The New European Super (borefest) League

Supposedly Harry Maguire confronted Ed Woodward about this - unfortunately Woodward dropped his shoulder and left Maguire looking bamboozled.
Those changes were to please the big clubs, they not a natural footballing evolution.

I am still baffled you are defending this ****show. They cant even get another 3 founder clubs to join lol.
The natural evolution of football has been to give more and more to the bigger clubs every few years.

And I'm still baffled to see that you cannot read. Please find a single post of mine that's defended this, I've literally said I'm against it.

As Rory Smith and Neil Atkinson said on TAW. Fifa can threaten these players all they want...they will just up their own world cup and sell the rights to the highest bidder.

I do think this ESL will happen...whether it will be a as closed as it then who knows.

This "generation attention span" nonsense get's bandied around all the time... it's just that nonsense. They will happily sink 12 hours of tv in a day or weekend if you give them the product they want (same as any other generation).

Does anyone think that this is all getting a bit childish? The whole idea of kicking them out of the league is crazy. "My ball and if you don't play by my rules I'm taking it away from you". It's pathetic.

The 300 million given to a club for joining the league is more than you get for winning the Champions League and the Premiership.

Most are more worried about the "tradition" and "grass roots" of the game.

The world is a smaller and different place than it was a hundred years ago. Has anyone noticed how it's mostly the older generation that are losing their heads over this? There is a reason for that. Time to move on a think. Next stop, a world league.

Now that would be awesome to see.

If they break away, let them, don’t pick the players in it. If that league isn’t run by FIFA then the players in it are not qualified to play in fifa sanctioned games, like the World Cup. This close league might as well be a different sport, they could have 12 players instead of 11 and FIFA can’t do anything since it’s a closed league, so why should everyone else let them play in fifa World Cup?

We (Leicester), dropped to League one, then back to the championship, then to the Premier league, survived relegation.....Champions :)

You have a sugar daddy owner, most League One teams can only afford to pay players £2000-3000 a week, whereas in the Championship you have teams paying £20,000-30,000.

The only way to succeed as things stand is with a wealthy owner, saying that any team can climb to the top of the pyramid is like saying it's possible for anyone to buy a Yacht in Monaco.

Rather than childish, people have principles, people have respect, honour and responsibility to each other.

Being childish don’t.

Quitting a competition because it isnt catered to your own needs isnt childish?

Its against the EPL rules to take part in unauthorized competition, its merely enforcing the rule book if they get kicked.

UEFA bent over backwards for them with the wildcards and all the coefficient nonsense, and they still threw their toys out of the pram, the franchise American owners want certainty in a sport that rewards on merit, they can get the out of our game.

I would rather watch Halifax town vs Luton than a JP Morgan game.

But dont worry according to the real madrid president its contracts set in stone so you can watch your christmas is every day JP Morgan trophy, the choice is there for you, just the majority of the football in Europe isnt going along with it. It is what it is.

It's important to remember this is the faceless owners, not the clubs themselves, their staff, their players, and their fans.

Most if not all clubs would historically be firmly against this.
