Or, you could have spent MUCH more (see above)

I could always spend more! But if the camera doesn't fit in my pocket then I may as well just stick with my D700. For the £425 I paid, the GR can't be beaten on usability or IQ I reckon, if you can live with a 28mm lens anyway, which I can.

The Nikon coolpix A is very similar and almost as good, but really not quite as good and more expensive.

Agreed, you need a coat for the LX100.

First outing in proper rain today since I got my Lencoat Raincoat and it certainly seems to do the trick :D The little sleeves left and right let me access the camera and lens zoom ring etc and also my my hands quite warm since they're sheltered from the elements.

I found that the wind was high enough to blow water droplets onto the front element so I pointed myself downwind. With my hood up on my jacket and that little flap of fabric at the back it's almost like one of those old skooly cameras with the black cloak. I can almost fit my head into the back of the Lenscoat lol

I did a spot of cleaning too today actually :) gave my tripod and head a shower to remove some of the salt and gave my lenses a wipe down and a bit of a front element clean.

It's a shame the kite surfers love the same conditions that end up spraying seawater at me on the beach :(

Took the opportunity to replace our S110 with this nice launch offer which now includes a Canon cashback and one year’s subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud Photography Plan.

Is the auto focus as sluggish as they suggest?
Looks like a great deal but the apparently show AF puts me of recommending it.

Amazon flash deal, couldn't resist (the viewfinder came with my old GRDIII):

Feels good to be back with a GR, I kept putting off buying one since I already had a X-Pro 1 with an 18mm, but the Fuji can be frustratingly sluggish and laggy at times.
