*** The new MacBook/MacBook Pro thread, all info in here ***

TNT was flawless with me, got mine on the 6th instead of the 10th. The guy pulled into the drive instead of parking in the road and walked around the back to find me. Could not ask for more!

Seriously? What the hell is wrong with these fools? I mean how hard is it to match the door number you ring with the one written on the bleeding box? Apple should really review their delivery policy as this seems to be happening way too often. Perhaps using only UPS as they seem to be the only company that can do their jobs properly!

My 2nd one (today) came via UPS!!!!!

I have a strange problem, I just installed Vista 64 on my new MacBook and put the OSX disk in to install the drivers under Vist x64 and it says "Boot camp x64 is unsupported on this computer model" on further inspection of the Read me file it says this disk is used to install OSX on a MacBook Air!

The writting on the disk itself doesn't say anything about it being for MacBook Air.
Is it possible I have the wrong disk?

Seems very strange.

C'mon sonny, I'm waiting ! ;)

Haha! Sorry mate, I'm still setting her up. Using now, installing apps. Putting in the WD drive was easy, the only tricky part was undoing the torx screws that hold the drive in place. I don't have a torx screwdriver so I just used pliers instead. Things fell very snappy with this drive in now!

I timed startup of the old 5200rpm 160GB drive which was from the moment I pressed the power button to the system starting and safari opening ready for use. It clocked 42 seconds. I'll test the new one in just a little bit!

Edit: The new drive clocked 38 seconds! Apps are very quick to start and nothing seems to lag at all. Very happy! :)

I'm sure i've read somewhere that theres a file on the disk you have to run instead, called something with "64" in it, if i find the info i'l link it.

New MacBook Pro power settings

Thoughts and feelings about usuage of the power settings related to the battery performance and graphics card(s) please.

I flick on for vid editing and photoshop and flick off for mundane day to day apps.

Anyone got some insights into correct deployment

Haha, it's great isn't it?

I got £1,150 for my MacBook Pro that was one and a half years old had a few scratches and only cost £1,300.

And I gave my old early 06 MBP 2.16, 2gb, 7200rpm away for free. Probably should have sold it! Oh well.

Was that on that auction-house-we're-not-supposed-to-mention? How long ago did you sell it? Trying to sell mine at the moment and not getting very far!

eBay?

Yeah.

I sold it just over a month ago, a week or so before the news one were released as I figured I'd get more for it before.

Ah fair enough. I didn't even realise I was going to get the new one until I'd bought it so that wasn't really an option for me. :(

Oops. Worth about £700...

I'd still get around £600 for my original 1.83 MBP (upgraded). After US$ conversion it was only a little over £1100 new nearly 3 years ago.

How's the Scorpio after a couple of days of use? Any ticking, clicking or vibrations? The stock hDD in mine's making this clicking noise when idle that's doing my head in. Some say it's OS X power saving some say it's not.

I'm torn between the scorpio or the OCZ SSD depending on the clicking !

Just ordered a new MBP, the 2.4Ghz model with 4GB or RAM, omg i cant wait now :D was quoted 2 weeks for delivery but fingers crossed it wont be as long as that!
