The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

OK, here's one for you. How do I sync my Firefox bookmarks into the browser?

I've got as far as Google Bookmarks, then tried GoMarks but nothing I've found (free) will import them into the browser on the phone. Hmm.

You get 300 free text messages and 100mb, but also you can convert £5 of that credit into another 250mb by buying an extra.

That's what I've done atm but after this month I'm going to shove an O2 sim in mine, for £10 topup you get 500mb plus I find O2's 3G a lot faster and better coverage.

Yeah I have been considering selling my i5700 for one of these as a temporary mobile until I get enough money for a desire HD or something else, would really love the nexus 1.

Although I really don't want to sell mine for any less then £130 tbh, so I think our best bet is to put our spicas up on ebay tbh as this mobile is extremely popular in some places and of course Samsung have stopped selling these already :rolleyes: (as in there words, "the mobile is too old", no doubt :rolleyes:), so I reckon you could possibly get a bit more especially if they are rooted and flashed with the likes of frozen eclair or CM froyo when it's fully released.

What windows OS are you on?

I am on 7 64 bit and just followed this guide, which was really easy to follow and it worked great:

Don't bother trying to update to 2.1 using kies as it's useless, doesn't work for me at all, best just to use odin for flashing the official firmware.

So yeah I think that's possibly the reason why you can't root or flash etc. :p

Lol yeah, same, never buying another samsung mobile again due to there support and poorly written drivers for everything in this i5700 :mad:, if it weren't for samdroid.net and there developers who have fixed and improved things greatly (nearly everything is fixed apart from a few things), I would have sold this a long time ago tbh :p

I've got a rooted san fransisco and rooted desire side by side and here's a few things I can say for sure.

The screen is just as good as the desire!!
Phone is just as thin but not as long
The phone is nowhere near as quick as the desire. Once rooted its faster but the desire is way way quicker

but for £99 how do you rate it? id rate mine as great for the moolah, lovely screen ;)

I personally think its an absoloute steal for £99. I bought it for my mom for her birthday and she has not put it down since. Its a great introduction to android.

I played a HQ video from youtube side by side with my Desire, and i have to say i was waiting for the San Fransisco to fall to pieces so i could laugh with my Desire, but to my suprise, the San Fransisco did not fail to impress me :eek:

Awesome phone.
 
I'm uploading a video of me messing with the SF rooted and on custom rom.

You'll see me browsing web, messing with menus and playing a HQ video on youtube so you guys can see the real performance of this phone.

got one rooted and unlocked, just waiting for the giffgaff sim to arrive and then i'll just use the orange sim for orange wednesdays.

Has anyone managed to scratch their screen yet? dno whether to bother with a case/screen protector.
