The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

ok, I have one of these and it is great in all respects bar one. MP3 playback is a stuttering mess with a lot of hiss through the 3.5mm jack. How are you guys finding it?
 
Problems with screen

Hello to all,

I have just bought my San Francisco. I'm amazed at the price. I was so undecided between this and LG Optimus 540 but finally decided for the San Francisco. I already unlocked it and getting ready to root and install the MoDaCo rom. Only one problem before that. I've noticed that the colors of the screen are very very bright, for example yellow is more like glowing orange and green goes like fosforecent green, pictures look weird, is like everybody is tanned :) i've tried to see if there is something like a color control (warm/cold) but in the menu i can only adjust the brightness and nothing changes, even with brightness low. My friend has a htc wildfire and a nokia 5800, the difference between them and this is huge. Don't really know what to do. Is it faulty or is this because of the orange custom rom. I don't want to root or flash it because I don't want to lose the warranty.

I'd return it, sounds faulty.

On the topic of protection...

HTC Desire Dimensions:
119 x 60 x 11.9 mm

Orange 'Frisco Dimensions:
116 x 56.5 x 11.8mm

I'd say Desire cases should work quite nicely.
 
Why are these going for £150 on the bay?!

Edit: Just noticed they say unlocked. So their hoping people don't realize their paying an extra £50 for an unlock that costs less then £5. And a 5 year old could do.

The phone is currently only available in the UK, so people in Ireland and Europe have no choice but eBay.
 
R3 Superboot / MCRi for ZTE Blade just been put up on MoDaCo

Changelog

* Hardware acceleration enabled
* Core app updates (Maps etc.)
* MoDaCo Boot Logo
* Minor WiFi changes
* A few other minor tweaks and changes to juice up performance and maximise compatability.

Seems it makes the Blade even quicker!
 
Just updated, remember to do the SuperBoot first before you flash to r3.

Seems fairly pacey, not like it was slow before. Real test tonight is to see how it reacts to sleep/wifi, oh and if the alarm clock crashes it tomorrow morning...
 
Ive unlocked this phone (brilliant bargain), and set the default browser to my choice, but it keeps comming up with orange page. Any idea hows to clear this , and stop it defaulting to orange page ?
 
Open browser --> home button --> more --> settings --> set home page.

Worth deleting all the Orange crap in there too.

Managed to get my PC bookmarks on there in the end, export from FF to HTML then upload to MyBookmarks web service. Grab the app from Market, and import away. Not pretty, but works.
 
I'm being lazy today, so excuse the inevitable repetition of some questions!

Is it possible to have this phone unlocked?
Is it a superior phone to the HTC Magic?
Are these currently in stock and shipping?
Does the camera have a flash?
Is the battery life at all decent?

Thanks in advance, I would usually research it all myself, but work is epic busy atm!
 
Mine arrived at 10:45, and by 10:50 the unlock code had arrived (£1.40 from ebay) and it was rooted and running MCR.

It's a nice size and shape not too big, and not so small that its impossible to work with.

Is the battery life at all decent? Probably about a day or more with average use. Playing games, browsing a lot and it will need charged every night.
