The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Is it smooth, does it lag?

Sorry if I am asking so many questions but my current phone Samsung omnia (i900) is a piece of .

Takes 3-4 seconds to get from homescreen to main menu, btw this is one button i have to press! not a long list of menus, just pressing one button takes 3-4 seconds to respond and I am not joking.

Instant and very smooth.

the lower volume button on my sf is squeaky! it's driving me mad.

I've stuck the modaco rom on it and also unlocked the phone, do you think I could return to an orange shop if i stuck the orange rom back on it? I brought this on thrus online

Read about somebody else having a similar problem, they were able to slide the button up into it's proper position.

Loving this phone. Unbelievable for £79. The screen is brilliant, never seen one like it before. Seems pretty nippy too. Just trying to get use to it coming from using an iPod Touch all the time (which will still be my dedicated music player and house browsing).

After my current phones crapped in, think it got wet at the gym maybe, and im not quite ready to purchase an iphone 4 this seems like a fantastic phone for the money. It'll be my first Android device so hopefully I can get along with it. Ordered mine tonight will get it thursday I hope.

Finally flashed the Modaco r3 rom, and its much snappier, all the orange rubbish is gone, and it boots quicker to, hopefully tomorrow will see the realease of a recovery so we can backup roms, andpossibly clear the cache an so on.

Rooted and applied the R3 Rom last night...the video was so helpful and there was a moment of 'Oh no...' but luckily it worked.....so glad I bought the phone !!

Yes but what does it mean?? a kitchen???

"I have compiled my own version of Koush's ClockworkMod Recovery for the Blade... and it works great! smile.gif

It'll be online tomorrow, which means we can do nandroid backups, setup a MCR kitchen and much more!

P"

Paul at MoDaCo has got Clockworkmod working and will be posting it up today.

This thing is snowballing, and getting better everyday.

haha

"Kitchens are easy to use, basically you tick the bits you want in your rom from a selection of apps / features and it creates the rom for you to download, then it's just a matter of flashing it"

The kitchen is a brilliant idea for getting rid of the bits of a ROM that you don't want or need and streamlining the ROM to your own requirements.

To make full use of the online kitchen you need to be a paid up member - otherwise you are looking at downloading the 'pre-baked' roms that may have stuff in that you dont want.
