The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

ok, I figured it was the autofocus just seemed awfully noisy to me but if it's normal then it saves having to return it then :)
I'll run it stock (god I want to get rid of the orange crap, that's after literally 10mins lol) for a week and then cyanogenmod here I come :)
 
Does anyone else have a problem with the button at the top that turns the screen on and off?

Half the time I have to keep pressing it at least 10 times to get it to work, even taking off the case and pressing the button, it still wont turn on/off after at least 30 secs of continious pressing.

But then other times, like now, a gentle push and its working fine.

If I take it into an Orange shop when its not working, would I be able to at least get a replacement? Bought in November last year.

been a while since i posted in here and still see its quite lively :) has there been much change or development in the roms for the SF? my wifes is currently on Swedish Jelly Fish, not sure of the version, all i know its 2.2 as the cm7 didnt seem to work that great?

Excuse my 9 day lateness - this is a known problem with the handset that the button in some instances will fail over time. Phone up customer service and they can deal with you. Many custom roms will likely have been programmed to turn on via home button press as an alternative I suspect. This is a fairly common feature I've seen in the ROM world.

Just had Orange swap the battery on mine, was barely getting a day out of it, used to be able to get a solid 2 days with 3G enabled and light use, I just hope the handset is not at fault, top service from orange though, battery was at my door within 14 hours of calling them.
 
Ok I want to get one of these, what is the cheapest way of getting one.

I know a family member that has been on orange pay as you go and orange pay monthly for a few years. Remember seeing something about discount.

Call the customer service number, I think it's 450 or something. Go through the options to buy a new phone/upgrade or whatever.

Once you get through, tell them "I'd like to purchase an orange San Francisco".

They'll then put you through to the sales dept. Tell them "Hi there, I was told I can get a £30 loyalty discount on a new San Francisco".

After becoming increasingly frustrating with Cyanogen Mod (How they can call it stable is beyond me)

I wish to downgrade back to Jap Jelly 9 or some other stable mod. Is there a guide floating around on how to do this?

SSrls5 on my phone now for over 4 months and not a single crash here overclocked too
 
I'm thinking of getting this since I really need a new phone, according to the orange website it's running 2.1, I assume it is possible to upgrade to the latest firmware?

Oh and where is the best place to get one on PAYG?
