The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Well had mine 8 Days and it want see the SD card? Returned the phone to Orange, then had to go back home to get the box before they would exchange it, for a new phone. Exchange will see how long this one lasts, only made a couple of calls on it!!

Finally got mine today, spent the last half hour putting on the modaco r4 rom had to get rid of the Orange branding crap. Seems much better than my old X10 mini pro, I can play angry birds on this!

Anybody recommend a screen protector? I looked on ebay, but cant see any specific ones.

On Modaco R4 I occasionally get random soft reboots - but the uptime doesn't get switched. Does anyone else get this or is it my phone?

Also, Angry Birds is a little stuttery for me (it'll sometimes be okay and other times it won't). How is it for you guys?

I think angry birds is being stuttery from the ads. Mine is smooth as until an ad pops up. However some of the more intense levels do slow it down a little.

This is my first android phone, and what an amazing way to start off using android. I just can't get over the screen quality, the picture is so crisp and the touch is so responsive. Its a shame they didn't put more effort into things like build quality of the buttons.

People on MoDaCo are saying Samsung i900 screen protectors fit well, same for the i900 cases.

I've just fitted a Samsung i900 screen protector to mine and it does fit well. However, I don't like the feel of it. The screen surface was nice and smooth without the protector, but with the protector on it's much harder to swipe your finger across it. I think I might remove it to be honest.

Im not using one on mine, i'll just use it till its Do not quote swearys and buy another. if it lasts 6mths till its ****** that'll do me for the price.

Yeah, true.

Just going to throw some more £5 notes in the fire to keep me warm... ;).

You get used to it pretty quickly.

Froyo 2.2 released on SF......guys @ modaco made it finally , they really put there hard work in it, downloading now

Fantastic news!

Downloading now.

To those who are about to jump on this, it is clearly alpha at this stage, so don't expect a 'perfect' experience :).

Hmmm, he's made an odd choice to run the screen at a higher resolution than it was really designed to and as such looks quite odd and in my opinion makes everything way too small. Shall drop back to 2.1 in the morning me thinks, until this has a little more work :).

I don't think my SF vibrates when I get a text message and I can't see the option to turn vibrate on for notifications in Settings. Isn't it possible?

I dropped my other half's HTC Desire down a drain last night getting out of the car - she's not happy! I'm thinking of replacing it with a San Fran, all she does is play solitaire, browse the web, check emails and goes on Facebook.

Any tips for getting it for £79? We are both on O2 so can't pull the loyal customer line.

try the "we've both been with O2 for years but would be extremely tempted to switch to orange if there was a tempting little discount"

can't hurt to ask
