The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Anyone use tesco mobile, i can't seem to get 3g plus gmail it's fussing it can't sign in.

On that matter anyone know of a dual sim for this phone, down here orange has far superior 3g support, however tesco is dirt cheap for calls.

Seems a little snappier to me, but I haven't used it much as I haven't sorted the res yet.

EDIT - Can't seem to get wifi connected at the moment either.

Just installed andguard pro, you need a rooted phone of course.

Amazing app it speeds the phone up so much, angry birds now runs like a dream.

Really tempted to get one of these to use as my second phone for work. Can't seem to convince the wife it's a good idea though when I've got a Desire:p

Will have to keep working on her.

Hmm, just spoken to Orange retentions team, been offered Samsung Galaxy Apollo, 500MB usage and international calls to the Middle East 75p/min rather than 90p/min for £15 a month on yet another 24 month contract...
Currently using an HTC Touch HD (awful WinMo 6.2 handset) and paying upwards of £80 a month for £45 contract+£40~ for calls and texts to family in the Middle East. Sounds like a bad deal amirite?

I was planning on leaving Orange, getting a 30 day rolling contract with 3/T-Mobile/whatever and the San Francisco handset, then when I get bored of this one, just buy a new one sim-free

Does not sound a good deal where I had (had being the operative word) a Samsung Galaxy Apollo. Bought it a few months before the SF came out and it would have been an okay phone except for the junk Orange apps on the phone. Not the fastest of phones at the best of times where the Orange extras did bring it to its knees more often than not. Could have unlocked, rooted and put on a stock Samsung ROM to remove the Orange stuff but the SF came out so have bought one of these instead. SF is an order of magnitude a better phone than the Samsung and now I've unlocked the SF and put on a custom ROM it's nearly as good as the Desire I have.

The Samsung as been taken to a popular high street computer shop that does mobile phone exchanges where got £93 voucher where I'm happy not to make too much of a loss with the phone.

Indeed, the sf has put a lot of phones out there to shame.

Heck even the google gps runs pretty decent, which it's not meant to have.

Can i ask how this phone compared to the iphone 3gs in terms of specs and app's?

Is the mix of android and the specs of the san francisco make it on par with the iphone 3gs and ios4?

Anyone else have a problem with headphones popping out of the socket whenever you turn the angle of the headphone wire? I have a pair of Sennheiser in-ear headphones with a L shaped connector so it gets annoying if I want to put the phone in my inside jacket pocket, when turning it has a habbit of popping out. Thankfully though the phone stops playing music so I don't annoy anyone else when it happens.

Just taken delivery of my San Francisco. Rooted and added the r4 modaco rom.
Phone is much better than the x10 mini i was using.
What screen protectors are people using and which sock will it fit?

Got one prob though, apps won't download. Put six on to download. Ebay downloaded and installed with no problems but the rest are just sat at "Starting Download". Any ideas? Tried with wifi and 3g.

The Market still appears to be playing up today, I haven't been able to download anything at all! :(

Samsung i900 screen protectors fit it perfectly.

The Android Market is a bit tempormental lately. So don't expect downloads to work atm.
