The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

Getting a good day out of mine 7am-10pm with pretty much constant internet use plus some calls, nav, texts. Gaming less as novelty worn off on angry birds which helps. Still finding sebastians r4 rom the most stable.

I don't think my SF vibrates when I get a text message and I can't see the option to turn vibrate on for notifications in Settings. Isn't it possible?

message then menu button, then settings.. scroll down you will see the option to turn on vibrate for messages at the bottom.

got this phone yesterday and installed the r4 thingy. Absolutely stunning phone for the price.

Anybody running the Froyo Alpha as their main rom? I'm just in the process of trying it out now (just finished installing). I'm using the build "r4b gforums Custom Rom FroYo" since it seems to contain most of the fixes from the standard Alpha one.

Same one I'm on.

Lost all my texts and all my applications :'(

Going back to Sebs r4 (haven't got around to 'upgrading' to r5, don't think it adds much anyway). Good thing I have a backup on Clockworkmod!

Just doesn't feel ready. Of course it is an Alpha. The Wifi kept dropping out and with my bad signal area it is impossible to download apps to test them out.

Im about to Partition my SD card ready for 2.2 froyo.

How Should I Partition a 8gb SD card?
6.5 gb FAT32, 997 mb EXT2, and a 32 mb linux-swap would be ok?

Yeah, don't use swap. Not only are SD cards the slowest form of data storage known to man but SWAP doesn't help with Android - it actually hinders it by nulling Android's own built in way of dealing with memory.

The links posted earlier in the thread with regards to unlocking are saying no longer available. Anyone got anymore they can share?

Ok thanks, so theres no need to parttion for froyo then. Oh btw i read you dont need a unlocking code for froyo. As it will unlock itself once flashed to 2.2

Kernel source released, initial overclocks of the phone's CPU have hit 864mhz. This just gets better and better, especially with 2.2 seemingly round the corner.

What's it stock?

And 2.2 is out, albeit in alpha form but it runs fine.

Shame flash isn't coming :/

600mhz stock. The processor is from the MSM7227 chip. Check the HTC Legend threads on XDA for likely stable overclocks.

Flask can be sideloaded on. Just won't work very well without the better performing cortex A8 chips.
