The new Orange Android phone (San Francisco) £99...but a Question??

I got this for my mum and I'm a little concerned that they screen could easily scratch, how is the screen? Are there any protectors out there that would fit? The phone is arriving tomorrow so I will be able to compare it to my nexus.

A-GPS is real GPS. A-GPS is where it uses normal GPS and the internet to help it achieve a faster lock.

To the bloke with the Orange SIM not provisioned - phone up orange and tell em it's not done - while it can take upto 24hrs it should take <2.

I just bought one today from the Orange shop, going to recycle my Nokia 5800 for approx ~£80.

So far so good, really tidy phone for the price, can't wait to root it and flash the custom ROM that removes all the Orange stuff. Coming to Android from Symbian is quite an experience!
 
Love this phone, had it for a couple of days now, no custom rom installed yet but I've unlocked it for $3 from NCK, it runs very smooth with 'LauncherPro' and 'Advanced Task Killer' installed, both free apps from the market place.

The first thing that strikes you about the phone is the display, it really is stunning.

Can I ask what actually are the main benefits from 'rooting' your phone?

Using Modaco I was able to root it, custom ROM it and unlock it inside 20 minutes! Now just looking round the market for decent apps and widgets.

Having problems getting that sense clock widget to work, it never prompts me to customise the settings.

Sense Analog Clock Widget 4x2 prompts me to customise

Sense Analog Clock Widget 24 does not prompt.

which one do you have installed?

Pretty sure it was 4x2, going to try and install it again, hopefully more luck this time!

Anyone recommend any 3rd party browsers? Saying that the default browser seems pretty good.

Just checked again. I have the 4x2 version. when i add it as a widget i get a screen to customise
