The New Stargate Universe Thread

I'm joking, if its the same site that I have in my bookmarks bar, and that only lists season 1 so good chance its that same one you mean, then viva la site we can't mention.

I think that they're trying to make it into a Battlestar Galactica type of style (how dark it is) but honestly Stargate should have stayed the way Stargate has always been imo.

Saying that though, I'll continue to watch it just because I started too :P

If i were to compare the first seasons of SGU and BSG, i'd have to say that BSG seemed to capture the 'epic' scale of things allot better than SGU so far. I think that's what its missing atm. All of the ingredients are there, they're just not being used.

I think BSG just has the better ability to be 'epic' since it could be viewed as they are at war on the run. I don't know how far the UK-timeline of SGU is in and don't want to say spoilers so i'm having to be kinda careful about what I say :P

stargate universe seemed to have the wrong king of writers for a sci-fi show...

its like they hired the writers of eastenders and emmerdale farm and mixed them with the writers of eureka

to much drama not enough scifi

I'm a big fan of Stargate. And I'm really liking the feel and direction they've taken with universe. Dark is the best description.

SG1 was always quite light hearted, Atlantis had a bit more of a dark edge to it, and universe is pretty much 90% edge lol.

I've only seen Season 2 episode 1, Managed to miss it 2 weeks in a row!! So i have some catch up to do

Boring episode this week (even if I did feel a little touched when they brought Eli's mum to the ship). Finally they realised there was something up with MHG (miraculous healing girl), I wonder what gave it away :/, congrats to Eli and Token Black Guy for finally figuring it out. I really hate Lesbian's story on Earth, come on they've the entirety of Destiny to explore but we have to listen to their marital difficulties instead. I still stand by my belief that how good an episode is is inversely proportional to the amount of time spent on Earth, this means next week's episode is going to be terrible from the looks of things :(

Yeah its getting a bit annoying how they never let it live up to its potential, i reckon the writers have been doing it for too long, they need to get some new ones in and write more decent scifi and stuff, i don't mind a bit of drama and the odd filler episode but it seems like its mostly filler and slow paced.

So instead of finding out more cool stuff about Destiny they're partially exploring planets and having hallucinations and killing aliens with fire :/

The hallucinations are getting a bit boring.

With Rush, they don't even need to have imaginary characters. He could "riff" with Chloe as she has "knowledge". Together, they can crack the way in which the ship functions.

Rush has already found out about a way back to Earth though so now they're just rubber banding whatever they can in between!

The US is only one episode in front, and I've seen that, so whatever you say khan it's already been out in the UK.

I thought it was a few episodes back rush found all that out?

LOL What the hell did Rush find out? What's with all the cloak and dagger? Lets hear it.

In a previous episode, Rush attempted to open the stargate, straight to Earth. He succeeded. However, the extra power supply need to hold the gate open, didn't hold. Rush seems to want the others to go back to Earth, though it does seem that he would rather remain on the ship.

If Rush knew how to get back to Earth, I'm pretty sure he would send the rest of the crew back to Earth, while he stayed on the ship keeping his imaginary friends for company.

I don't think Rush knows how to get back to Earth.
