The New Stargate Universe Thread

Watched S2 Ep19 last night, I'm getting more and more gutted it was canned as it progresses.

I thought last nights was an awesome ep. I guess they based the cancellation on the snoozefest that was S1 rather than the later episodes that were yet to be shown :(

Heres hoping they decide to revive it someday.....
 
Viewing figures for shows like this are always going to be poor, the main auduience is tech minded guys, all of which have net access and most can't wait for the shows to be aired in the UK; So end up obtaining by other means and therefore don't watch all the advertising that funds the networks/shows and allows the show to continue.
 
Or the fact that... well... a lot of people don't like it?

SG1, Atlantis, every episode i enjoyed and i've seen a few many times it wasn't just the storylines but the camera angles it was more towards scifi action. But this sci fi drama version of stargate is tripe. We spent so many episodes getting to know each character with that stupid camera drone, sex scenes pretty much right off the bat, BAD BAD Battlestar galactica camera work instead of fixed cameras like SG1 and Atlantis we had handheld drunk camera's. It was the eastenders of space and every episode never had me wanting to see the next one!.

Though i'm sure for every 10 people that hate it, 2 people will love it :D

I also enjoyed the characters in SG1 and Atlantis, they had something that even if the episode wasn't that great it was still great to see the characters. Sam and O'Neil, would they ever get together... Tealc and his ways... Daniel and his constant head in the books and geek attitude. Or the Mcay in Atlantis

Atlantis was by far the best stargate once youv rounded them up and looked at them objectively. yeh sg1 was great in the beginning but it got further caught up in cast changes, enemy shifts etc that ultimately left it quite flat.
Hek atlantis managed to make wolsey into a fully fledged badass.

Atlantis was a joy to watch, and it was criminal that they cancelled it especially with the quality of season 5. That ****ed so many people off that I think they will never watch stargate again.
 
This season has won me over. When I started watching season 1 I was quite interested as it's a new way to get my sci-fi fix, however it quickly became boring and it felt like it just dragged on. Now we've had quite a bit of character development and the story in season two has so far been fantastic. I really have no idea why it's getting canned, there are far worse programs out there and it's quickly managed to become one of my favourite programs on TV. I really hate watching it now as I know it's not going to continue. :(

The past few episodes have been stunning, well I think since it was decided it wouldn't be renewed. It makes you wonder what it could have been like if it started off that way. Such a shame that so so many Stargate fans gave up on it. Amazing last episode, to go out on.

I'm so sad right now, I might just have to work my way through Atlantis again. :( Bye bye SGU.
 
heh yeah they can await their disappointment :P

never know, it might get recommissioned at some point, they have left themselves options to put people onto the ship in the future (not spoilers, its been shown in UK) they just need to build upon it.
As with every season finale they can contrive a situation where anyone lives or dies depending on who is available at the time, and then restock with anyone they like from Earth.
In fact, they could kill mostly anyone off and repalce every week if they need to. bring on the redshirts

Actually, they will probably just cheat again and again using the solar flares and wormholes that loop on themselves to keep replicating characters. If rush did that, maybe then he would finish running diagnostics on the ship and maybe just maybe finish doing his calculations for once. :p
