The New Stargate Universe Thread

Put it up and it will get spammed again and again thus well deserved!.. Cancelled my SG Atlantis and now cancelled SG:U, what else is worth having on that channel?. Ever since they went SY FY it went to the toilet
 
Just watched the last ep.

What can I say, it seems like they did their best work when the news that it was going to be cancelled.
The end to this season was outstanding.

Season 1 was very good and got me hooked, such a shame we're seeing all these amazing shows being cancelled.

Tell you what, if I won that Euro millions I'd buy SGU and air a new season lol.


Please bring it back, it deserves it!

Just like Life on Mars USA, at the start it was a bit average but when they heard it was getting cancelled and went off in a different direction it started to be brilliant. Why don't the Americans understand that a show needs some time to get into it's stride?
 
Well that's that then. :(

I really enjoyed it, a few weak episodes here and there, but overall I thought it was a great series with some really good characters.

Just ordered Battlestar Galactica S1 on Blu-ray, so hopefully that can fill the empty spot that Firefly - and now SGU - have left.

I think the issue might be who from 'the network' sits in the writing room for some shows. Directing what might be good to get viewers. When a show is cancelled this person can be told to FO, or simply departs (his job done) and then the writers write as they like, thus the story and quality seems to improve, figures don't improve as everyone has already deserted the ship.

Only people who care watch finales.
 
Yup the sets are being pulled down and the props will probably be auctioned off.

I'd imagine that a fair amount of the props/set pieces will be obtained by Propworx in the coming months.

I wonder who bought the MALP robot from SG-1 when they auctioned it off...

lol my mate tried to buy a Zat gun when they were selling them of but he missed out on it

They had. The only reason we got what could possibly be considered not the worst ending ever was because the writers hadn't heard anything and so wrote that episode on the basis that its kind of safe either way.

By all accounts the only reason it got two seasons was because they signed a contract for two seasons before it was even made. If not then it would probably have got canned after season one to much less annoyance as it was undoubtedly not as strong as season 2.

just watched the season ender, or should i say series ender.
anyway pretty good, interesting - could have easily gone somewhere in season 3 for sure.

shame its gone, now hopefully B+C will save my scifi needs!
