The new tomb raider game

I must say I am very impressed. Feels like classic Tomb Raider to me. Its good that she does stuff auto-magically, as the previous few killed it for me when I would sit there screaming as I hammered control and she wouldn't grab onto the ledges.

It also looks very beautiful on my 9800XT, and while it looks nothing like the 'next-gen' shots posted, it still looks damn good. I'm sold.

One slight niggle is that it was clearly XBox first, PC second. There's a bit when it says something along the lines of 'move the right analoge stick'. Analogue stick? I'm using a keyboard! Also its a bit odd having to move my hands to hit page down etc.

Anyone tried it with the XBox controller? I might have to get one for this.

Its also 17.99.... No complaints here. While I imagine the figure to not be far off, remember two things.

1. This is not an RPG :p
2: Some people will blitz through it. Like how Half Life can be completed over a weekend.

not if your after the nextgen mode in all its glory and want it for xbox360. Bah looks like i'll have to get the pc version instead, the demo runs sweet in normal mode anyway

I'm playing with the Xbox360 controller here.
The game spends the whole time telling me to "press E to kick an object"
alternate psychology :p
Its a great controller though, its much better using that then a mouse and keyboard, although the mouse + keyboard combination plays better than I had expected.

Finished the demo. Loved the end puzzle.

Surprisingly enough, although Lara seems to have Havok boobs, she seems less 'chesty' than a few games ago. Also after fiddling with the controls I can now play with two hands rather than needing four, and probably not going to get a xbox controller. Took a while to get used to the console style of moving based on where you are looking rather than what key you press (e.g looking at Lara head on while moving a crate, the keys would be reversed). Oh and good voice for Lara this time.

I'm sold :D

Now which retailer is going to get it to me so that I can play it friday evening after work?

This is what am thinking..

I seen it for £17.99 pre-order at three places now...But i can't workout which one to get it from.

Highstreet will be the usual 29.99 or possibly 24.99 though I doubt it, and surprisingly Gameplay seem to have a higher price than their competitors.

I went for the massive online shop (competitor) which was 17.99 + 1.99 delivery as the other cheap alternative (also a competitor) is .............. and things from there tend to take a while to get to me.

So now I have Battlefield 2, Oblivion AND Tomb Raider to play. :D And have to go to work. :(
 
I pre-ordered mine from a well known supplier.Its a large river in south america ;) cant give a link cos its against the rules.According to them it should be despatched first class either weds/thurs :D
