Just ordered this for 17.99 from the 3-5 day delivery site,the other site,you know the one that always gets releases to you a day or so before official release,is asking for 26.99.I'd rather wait a day or 2 and save enough cash to buy a bottle of jacobs creek and a wedge of cheddar.

I think ill order it at that price, i loved the first game and was sorely disappointed with the rest. The second one was OK but nowhere near as good as the first, i stopped playing after TR3

I've ordered mine. Hopefully will get here friday. Cant wait to play it. Loved the gameplay and the graphics were also v nice I also hated the first few tomb raiders, i got frustraded with the rubbish controls, and annoying views, you miss a ledge, start right from the bottom, no thanks! Much easier to play on the pc

Does anyone know what the next generation content is/does? All it seems to do for me is make my shadows look blocky and crap, i'm quite sure thats not what it's meant to do!

I know it absolutely kills my frame rate (7800GTX) :eek:

If you look at Post 45 on Page 2 then Tommer took some good screenshots comparing the game with and without the next gen content

Is it still playable?

I've only got an X800Pro and I was originally hoping to play the next gen content on it but I'm probably going to have to upgrade to a 7800GT or something but if that can't handle it then I'm rather surprised!

sorry, i did a search for 'generation' on all pages, but nothing came up so i assumed no one said anything about it.
There is quite a large difference in quality between the comparisons, but the effect is not as great on my machine.
I see i'm not the only one that gets blocky shadows though, thats too much of a turn off for me

Barely, to be honest I can either run it @1920x1200 with next gen features on or it struggles along at @1280x720 with them on, to be honest it looks great @1920x1200

I havent even got this yet, and the demo wouldnt allow me to put next gen mode on. I hope mine doesnt struggle. :/ Damn shame if it does.

your x800pro will have nextgen mode grayed out as it need SM3

Do not bother trying the next gen settings as there is a problem with them. Even the most powerful sli setups are having problems. There is an official response on the Ubi forums from the technical testing director confirming that there is a problem. According to his post it will be sorted out in a patch next Friday when the game is released in the States.

I find it amazing that they released it like this. When you read the official forums there is not one post saying that they can run the game in next gen mode (without huge drop in frame rate). Not the end of the world as it still looks good at 1600x1200 with AA and 16x QAF with frame rate indoors over 100 - loads spare performance to enable next gen when they get it patched.
