**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

So I just tried the 353.00 drivers. Thought all was well, no probs on desktop, fired up Witcher 3, all ran good and no crashes for 30 the minutes I tested (though previous ones were fine in games too).

Exit the game, back to desktop launched chrome, browsing and about a minute later............ screen dips to black for a second and I get the driver has stopped responding message

Have to do system reboot as if launch Witcher 3 after this, the fps are locked at 20.

Have now tried these mobile ones, the quadro ones with a modded inf and the official ones, and all are total arse turds and do exactly the same thing.
I give up.

What graphics are you running? If it's Keplar, Nvidia have said there's a known problem with it and Chrome and these drivers, not to mention Witcher 3 as well.

Kepler aye (780 Ti's)

I'm aware of the kepler performance in Witcher 3 nerd rage going on ;) but didn't know about chrome and kepler having specific issues. Got any links for this? From what I've read and seen this "display driver stopped responding" crash on the desktop problem is very wide spread across all cards...

Because they are officially supported on all cards

But hey you go and try those latest drivers released for desktops and see that works out for you ;)

Do you even read?

GeForce Hotfix driver 353.00
This is a GeForce Hot Fix driver, version 353.00 that addresses the following issues:

· Fixes a regression that prevented overclocking the GPU on some GeForce Notebooks

NOTE: This hotfix driver is only for GeForce Notebooks. There are no changes pertinent to desktop GPUs.

Well I've just had 3 desktop crashes in 30 seconds using these 353.00 drivers. They seem even worse than the 352.86 for me!

They do 'work' and install on desktop though, not sure why manju is getting his knick knacks in a twist. If anyone fancies trying them they may work for you.

The 'best' of the recent bad drivers for me are the quadro ones with a modded inf. I seemed to have fewer crashes on those. Might try reinatalling again but can't be bothered really.

Just had the following happen since updating to the latest drivers, unsure if its just a coincidence and my GPU died or if there is something wrong.. Anyone got any ideas?

UPDATE iCafe 352.94

Positive

trying those drivers and so far no crashes or " driver stopped " messages

yep no crashes in browsers anymore, i had to close the browser everytime to play BF4 now i can leave it there as always

Works fine with Windows 7 64bit, installed latest Geforce Experience separately.Edit: These are good with Witcher 3 and noticable faster browsing with IE.

Well, been playing for an hour. I re-enabled Chrome hardware acceleration and left it running in the background while playing. I've also alt-tabbed to send this message. So far, no crashes.

Negative

Edit: And now, crashed after 10 mins.

same crash

Nvidia seem to have lost the plot in just the last 2 months.

This Rog Swift Gsync light issue is really annoying. In the response I've seen from them, unless I'm misreading it, it says that on the desktop the little red indicator light is on but gsync is not actually active.

Well, they're wrong, it is. If you go into the monitor menu settings it says "Gsync Mode DP..." Which is what it says in games when Gsync is active. When Gsync is off (which you have to force via the NV control panel now) it says "Normal Mode DP".

So Gsync is on, all the time. Now, whether this matters or not I don't know, but I'm sure as hell sure it wasn't designed to be on all the time like this!

Correct. The comments I have read have suggested that G-Sync isn't actually active, it is just reporting to the monitor it is active! In that case Nvidia sort it. I shouldn't have to manually disable something which worked perfectly fine previously just to be able to use other functions of the monitor, or to know whether G-Sync is actually functioning correctly in-game - something which is now impossible without actually starting a game and visually inspecting for tearing or choppiness.
