**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

You might have seen my post in last couple of weeks asking about my graphic card problem. I been getting shimmering and blacks not looking like black textures among other things. Well GeForce Hotfix driver 353.12 has made it 90% better. The shimmeringhas almost stopped and colours a lot more vibrant and colourful. As soon as I got back to desktop I thought whats different. I realized it was the colours looked more as they use to. Been having this problem for weeks and formatting after formatting thinking it was my Pc. But no it was the drivers after all. Hopefully they can only get better now. Any way just to say thanks to all here for putting up with me this past couple of weeks. I have let some steam off as well on here as I was just about to chuck my PC out of the window. LOl.

Sucks that it didnt work for you, cant imagine why tho.

Might be worth trying it again with prefer maximum performance selected in NCP?

Its a very annoying driver bug either way, thats why i ended flashing a custom bios, got fed of random crashes

It is super annoying. I have been working on this since my troubles with Elite (same issue, needs down clocking to run)

So it's a real pain when it started with GTA

Anyhoo....

Just reinstalled Precision and enabled K boost again. It does work, (apologies) however it requires you to set your boost clock and not your base clock?? (I have only used AB) so when I enabled it, it was only my stock clock Overclock of 1366 MHz
When I ran a bench mark with Precision X it was not good. 12500.
I have reinstalled AB and I am now getting 1492 and an ok fire strike score 13150....

Ughhh this is annoying... LOL

Everytime you enable Kboost it effectivly disables then renables the driver. So any OC via Afterburner or any other software is wiped clean and it will run the card at the bios default clocks.

To run your OC

Enable Kboost>Apply your OC settings>Run game.

Its a PITA especially if you like me far prefer Afterburner as an OCing utility, cause either you have to use both,or you have to figure out the mess that is the PrecisionX UI

Anyone getting freezes with the last two sets of drivers? 350 were solid for me.

Reading back through the thread, I guess so... I am a chrome user but it is freezing in witcher 3 and now bf4. God dammit. Guess I'll reinstall 350

Nice

The new hotfix drivers are awful, don't know what they've changed but fifa now has microstutter and tearing like gsync isn't even working although it says it's on.

nVidia need to get their **** together.

Seems that they've added the option in the newest drivers to turn vsync on or off while using gsync if the game goes above 144fps, I guess I need to leave vsync on in the global settings for gsync to work in fifa or else it runs at about 200fps and that's why I was seeing microstutter and tearing.

I'd say swap to a real browser like firefox :P but FF has been going downhill hard lately. Turned on hardware acceleration with these drivers and FF and so far no crashes on my 780, 470 or GTX675m systems... so far...

The thing is I've had this 980 GTX for about two months now and since the update to the 353.06, it's been a very problematic night tonight. Crash after crash when using Chrome, with or without hardware acceleration. Thankfully I'm not alone in this as there a huge amount of complaints about it.

Gone back to 347.52 till they fix it

Are you using Win7 or Win 8.1 ?

No crashes again this evening. Last one was Sunday when the base clock was locked. So I am calling this a voltage issue on some Cards on some games.

Soooo Nvidia.... Are you going to look at this???? or is it not your problem...... Mmmmmm

Hmmm doubtful, mine is bios modified, hence why my card can keeps its clock and volts during gaming.

( This isn't a game issue, it's happening in windows chrome/firefox )

Or are we talking about different issues? :D
