**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Not had a single crash with the latest drivers. Running a titan x and using chrome.
Had a couple on the last set but only when i had GPU-Z running.

Hmmm doubtful, mine is bios modified, hence why my card can keeps its clock and volts during gaming.

( This isn't a game issue, it's happening in windows chrome/firefox )

Or are we talking about different issues? :D

Defo different issue!!! :)

I am not on the latest drivers (I am on 350) and this has been going on for months with various games. (Direct 3D driver crashes)

The latest 353 driver issues are a whole new world of Nvidia pain. LOL

However I think it is fair to say that there are many many issues with drivers at the moment, regardless of which camp you are in.

Hmm might be a problem with these drivers and hardware acceleration in FF actually - not sure as its not a problem I've encountered before but about once in 20 times alt-tabbing out of FF things get a bit glitchy with random windows drawn in the wrong order/transparency levels and take a bit of moving windows around before it clears. Turning off hardware acceleration and it doesn't seem to happen - I usually run with hardware acceleration off and not seen it before. (Could be with chrome the drivers take a dump at the point this happens).

Could be a FF problem though as with the last few versions rendering issues have been happening from time to time.

I had this the yesterday on the new version of FF,hardware acceleration enabled.I just assumed it was FF not the driver.

37.0.2 on this machine I haven't updated to 38 yet.

EDIT: Possible its gsync as well - forgot I'd changed it over to windowed mode earlier tonight to test something - usually just have it on fullscreen mode or off.

just turn chrome hardware acceleration off its buggy as hell anyway & uses extra 200MB of ram for what? overclocker forum that uses 0 GPU power :p

0 Crashes for me. using google canary

Is no one else getting the display driver stopped responding crash just on the desktop???

Chrome seems fine for me, as do games, but when I'm just on the desktop and I open the NV control panel, or just go into my computer, that's when I tend to get it!

Yes as I mentioned three times last night, however mine is chrome-driver related

Missed that I think. So are you saying you don't need to have a chrome browser window actually open for it to be a problem? Just having chrome installed on your system (and driver I presume?) is the problem?

If so, I find that hard to believe. People are having crashes who don't even use/ have chrome installed.

heh na, with me it crashes with a driver not responding when I'm only using Chrome or Firefox ( Hardware acceleration disabled ).

Here's an example...

I was visiting a site of photography, one of the images was a moving gif, I did a button press to go back a page. The system froze, driver has stopped responding.

Happened again later, I was on overclockers, clicked back a page with an embedded youtube video, driver has stopped responding.

I switched to an external solution for my sound so it's not that.

FIFA was crashing for me last night with driver stopped responding messages.

If this continues I don't think I'll mind switching to the AMD Fury X on release :D

But then I would have to jump on you at every given opportunity, as you would be supporting AMD :p

Joking aside, I wouldn't blame anyone for swapping back and forth and fair play to them. If I was having problems, I would have no issue in voicing my disdain and if it persisted, no issues moving across. At the end of the day (it gets dark), we want to game and enjoy ourselves and nothing ****** me off more than continual problems.
