**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Same here, I've been reinstalling drivers over the top of old ones now for about ten plus years, can't remember the last time I've had an issue.

Same

I think people go out of their way to be awkward and not have 'bloatware'

PC's have so much RAM now it's rarely a problem to have a few things installed like GFE - It's not like you have to use the profiles on it, I literally just use it to download the latest drivers.

I don't like GFE because I don't see why NVidia should have my personal details for logging in. I still only use downloads but I haven't had an issue yet.

doesnt a fresh install without installing GFE avoid that?

I never have issues with graphics drivers aside from once when I derped and installed the wrong ones which meant i couldnt run SLI lol

For windows pushing updates, i forced it via GPO and never had the problem again - and my windows 10 install is up to date

Are the drivers downloaded from the website installable whilst offline?

When I reinstall windows I might try downloading them them disconnecting from the net whilst uninstall and reinstall.

Hey there,

Anybody has issues with Gsync locking to 24fps or framerate dropping over time?

Gsync issue has happened in 2 different games now.

FPS drop has only happened in H1Z1 but my friends don't get the issue. My usual FPS is 100fps then after about 90 minutes it'll have slowly dropped to 40fps

Well me neither... but this time It's trashed my PC. The fact that me and windows are fighting over who gets to install a driver has meant I cant install anything.

It keeps trying and partially installs and I cannot install anything manually either.

Only a fresh install of windows left to do.

But how to avoid this in the future.... guess I have to do it via the GFE which I loathe. Makes you wonder why Nvidia bother to release the exe's.

Gutted for you mate. I dont bother with GFE either so god knowes whats happened to you. Hopefully you get it sorted though.

Unfortunatly it is downloading the entirte suit.

The other issue we home users hae is dont have a group policy editor.

I am happily running on 368.81 and GFE 2.4.11 by using the tool Disco P suggested and by deleting the setup.exe for GFE after forcing an update.

However it is all very annoying.....

Ah I see, I didn't realise you were on home. :(

At least you are able to get past it OK by using that tool.

Im not updating until the weekend or next week when I have time to faff around with redoing settings etc

That will not stop windows from updating the driver when you restart.

The issue is Win 10 home users who are having their Nvidia drivers updated without their knowledge. As soon as you have installed the driver of choice, windows is downloading and installing 376.53....

I only noticed this issue when GTA started to stutter. I went to reinstal my drivers and what was installed was not the version I had been using. Reinstalled 368.81 and next restrt was back to 376.53....

Other than useing wushowhide or a reg hack, since Win 10 Aneversay eddition, users have been unable to set preferences for hardwear updates.

Not sure what they keep doing at nVidia: -

For me it seems to be a game of roulette each time they release a new update :(

Sometimes I win, sometimes they do :p

It's not just Windows 10 home as I have Windows 10 Pro and had my driver changed to a older version as well. I was on the latest version but Windows decided to install 376.53 along with all the Nvidia crap I never install. It also changed my audio settings to Nvidia HD instead of my sound card. Since the Anniversay update I have no longer had the option to stop Windows updating drivers although hopefully I have stopped it now by using the group policy method posted by Smogsy further up the page. I hate this lack of control over what get's installed in Windows 10.

I'm on the same GeForce Experience Package, only difference is my driver is set to 375.95.

Windows decided to update my driver late last week so I rolled back citing better performance as the reason. Downloaded that wushowhide as a precautionary measure but I only see Intel system / Intel - Other Hardware in that application. Windows hasnt tried to force another GPU driver update since.

I can confirm, for people have driver issues caused by Win 10 auto installing, I got round this yesterday by downloading the latest drivers and then disconnecting from the net whilst I performed an uninstall/reinstall of the drivers.

Well, logged on today and they have been updated again.

I am livid once again.

Do we really have no control over hardwear drivers on Windows 10 home?

I have just uninstalled and re run wushowhide....
