**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Anand used them and reported no increases since launch in Rise of the Tomb Raider. I wonder if they used Dx11 or 12 though.

Bit bad showing The Division as a regression in the context they have if it is due to changes in the game (i.e. quality improvements or assets changed) so they aren't benching like for like any more.

DX12 just netted me ~3 fps faster in DX12 over DX11 in Rise of the Tomb raider. Previously, DX12 was a fair chunk slower than DX11 for me on my system. Some thorough systematic testing needs to be done before this can be taken as gospel but will see what time I have available tomorrow to do some RoTR testing.

I have a few Division vids comparing DX11 V DX12 and can retest on older drivers when I have more time.

I haven't noticed any graphics improvements or performance degradation with the division "main/base" game since launch. Most of the new content is done via separate DLC extensions i.e. it isn't part of the main game world, you have to load into it.

Dx 12 provides a massive boost for me over dx 11 in that game, so much that I could whack up 4 settings from medium to high as well as the sliders for draw distance etc.

Maybe time to switch back to DX12 in BF1 now!

Utterly HORRIFIC. I installed new driver and switched DX12 on. Awful. LITERALLY a slide show. No way could you even game like that. Instant, exit and switch back to DX11.

This is with a 970.

Tempted to get a 1070, but would be so disappointing if DX12 is also best avoided with the 10 series too?

I've just played a few hours of bf1 with my 980ti and the new drivers in dx12. I found it was a slide show to start of with but then calmed down to completely playable. Frame rates weren't quite there at dx11 levels but dare I say it there were less cpu spikes and I have a 3930k at 4.6 so it's pretty quick. I wouldn't upgrade to a 1070 for dx12 - I think nvidia still have some work to do in hardware, but for dx11 absolutely.

The problem is, so many of the AAA games are Game Works. I'd be looking over with envy at the nvidia cards when I am not able to use certain features in titles. :o

Kind of thinking, is ME Andromeda is another Nvidia title, then i might just pull the trigger.

I know the wise thing is to wait.... for Vega. Haven't had an AMD card since my 5870.

ME Andromeda is a frostbite game, but runs well on nvidia

Yep ok. Tried it again and you are right, frames do settle after some time. Odd tho...

I've never tried DX12 with the 1070, might do next time I boot it up.
