**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

I wholeheartedly agree. I would also like it that Game Devs (or any other programming Devs for that matter) just wrote their games to use all the features of a graphics card regardless of who it was manufactured by. Using the power of AMD and Nvidia kit to the best of both of their abilities. At least then there would be less to argue over.......Hmmmm okay maybe not less, just different things to argue over. :p

Problem is you have to maintain more than one rendering pipeline that way diverting huge amounts of resources away from working on the game itself. Also to be quite frank AMD's documentation on vendor specific features tends to generally suck and much more often produce unexpected results and on the other hand optimisations for nVidia specific hardware tends to penalise performance on any other platform requiring a significant amount of additional code to support other vendors without massive slow down.

GeForce 385.12 driver Beta download-

Download the Nvidia GeForce GameReady 385.12 driver as released by NVIDIA.
Nvidia just released a new driver, it is a bit of a mystery driver as it "Provides multiple Titan Xp performance optimizations on a variety of applications for prosumers and creatives". It seems Nvidia unlocked a couple of features in an answer to yesterdays released AMD Radeon Pro WX 9100. These drivers add NVIDIA professional features for applications such as Maya, unlocking "3X more performance" for the software.
"Our latest driver — available today — delivers 3x more performance in applications like Maya to help you create and design faster than ever"

Regarding this GeForce 385.12 driver Beta download is this going to do much for a GT 730 in gaming or is it really only going to aid developers?

I have one in a PC I used to use for eve online, passive cooled, I monitored the temp a while ago as I never have done before, think it was around 100C but the card was happy lol :D
This thing couldn't power a moth's wing. On the upside it is silent (mainly because it has no fan & is useless). :D

They certainly pump out the drivers these days. Although it was age ago, I can recall owning a GTX260 for several months and I don't think there was single driver update in all of that time!

I hope AMD bring something competitive soon, Nvidia drivers are getting so big with all the spyware and bloatware.

Nvidia, Plz do a non bloat driver for users that do not want Geforce Experience and the Spyware stuff ...

GeForce Experience is the bees knees!

You don't have to install GeForce Experience. I just install the graphics drivers & physX. I don't install GeForce Experience, HD audio driver, 3d vision controller or 3d driver.

We still have to download a 400mb+ package though. The only things I install are the actual driver and physx driver so it would be nice if they were available seperately.

Fair point & I agree. But that would make more people opt out of the bloat. This way you have to actively go for custom install to avoid it. Nvidia are sneaky.

Yeah but is this for the Titan X-p or just for the Titan Xp ? :D

From what I can tell both XP and Xp get the performance boost with the latest drivers.
