**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

This creators update stutter issue... I've read a few posts around the web with people claiming a clean install fixes issue.

Anyone tried this? Might be worth a try?

I've had endless issues with the creator's update that require a reinstall and/or running through the troubleshooter to force fix the database/reapply some updates :( which while it normally fixes that issue often results in another one popping up that wasn't a problem before :( I think part of the reason is some updates seem to randomly not install properly with the creator's update.

I'm doing a clean install of the CU as this stutter is killing me. :(

You know the stuttering you get in DX12 in BF1? Well that's how it feels now in DX11.

It's as if for a few seconds CPU usage spikes to 100% and the game stutters.

Think you mentioned it before but I've been paying attention to quite a few threads and losing track of some stuff - have you monitored DPC latency with the latest lot of stutters?

There is a couple of different tools for it that do similar but both have some different advantages - I mostly use Latency Mon.

Some of the recent versions of Intel RST and network driver software is terrible for it - one version was spiking me 4ms every 1-2 seconds - think one of the worst was the Intel Management Engine 11.0.0.1158 but I'd have to double check that.

NDIS was a pain until I found out Norton was interfering with the Intel drivers. The only remaining issue I have is due to an old soundcard. Auzen X-Fi Prelude since the drivers haven't been updated since 2011 as the company is no more. Had to use DanielK drivers but he is limited in what he can do.

I tried it. No joy.
Well that *****. First time i had those issues myself i got angry at win10 that i installed win7 and everything was smooth. Then i gave win10 CU fresh install another go and everything was fine at first then 2 days after install stutter came back and i had made no changes myself but cant say if windows has update or not because why let the user decide we are all stupid sheep anyway right?!?. Then the only thing I have done was my proposed fix, that sadly didnt work for you, and to disable nvidia telemetry. Ran smooth after that.

Ahh Auzentech. I have the Mystique 7.1 card in my drawer. Loved that soundcard.

Only other thing left for me to try is to remove my overclocks and see if that makes any difference. It shouldn't. Also I did test my overclocks thoroughly and things are very stable.

But there is definitely something up, as even Prey feels like the fps are going in a wave type motion, in then out gain or like a rowing boat fast slow.

Although Prey is very very slight, BF1 is game breakingly evident.

This is Ryzen after all.... could be something quirky about it. (Something related to the CCX's)

This is probably the wrong thread for this now. But hey ho. Plan is to drop CPU to stock. If that works, I'll drop OC to 3.7Ghz and pray that solves the issue.

Can somebody tell me what the last Nvidia Maxwell driver was before the Titan Pascal? I tried looking but was not sure as had mixed results because reviewers were using different drivers...
Thanks
