**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

All from ManuelG from Nvidia via the guru3d forum, to give credit where its due...

Apart from that, 320.39 just caused my first EVER crash on BF3 with my titan card. Removing and going back to 314.22 WHQL instead.

Meh I won't give Nvidia credit for releasing drivers as official's knowing full well they were borked at beta

I played some BC2 last night with 320.39 and max temp on GPU was 61°C compared with 81°C (MSI GTX 770 Gaming) when I was playing BF3 a couple of weeks ago using the 320.18s!!

Spent the night gaming after installing the 320.39's when I got home from work. I'm water cooled and my GPU (GTX670 FTW) temp appears the same (~50c) however my CPU (i7 3820 @4.5GHz) temp has dropped a couple of degrees lol. Could it be the extra heat we both saw with 320.18 was coming from the ram and/or VRM? (CPU is directly after the GPU in my loop).

Nvidia said:
"June 21st: Driver team continues to work on a new driver and has worked over the past few weekends to ensure the new driver is finished ASAP.
Several users sent their GPUs and systems in, and with those we have been able to reproduce the majority of the issues.
As soon as we have a fully functional driver it will be released. Once again, if you have an issue please roll back to 314.22 WHQL."

Should that read "users sent details of their systems in"? Or did they physically send their systems over to Nvidia. Sounds a bit extreme.

That they physically sent their GPUs/systems in. Nvidia requested this 3-4 weeks ago and offered loaner cards for ones sent in and free GPU upgrades for people who took their system to Nvidia's Santa Clara HQ and demonstrated the issue. The "extreme" action was warranted as the issues seemed to be limited to 3rd party cards and Nvidia don't have a stockpile of them lying around so needed users assistance to bring a quick resolve to the issue.

at least they are taking it seriously, though I think as an interim measure they should add official support to the 314.22 for the 780

320.49 beta.

I noticed my MSI GTX 770 Gaming was running at over 80°C playing BF3 on the 320.18 and only ~65°C in BC2 on the 320.39 - not a like for like comparison unfortunately but I'll try BF3 when I get 10mins spare - others have reported high temps compared to older drivers. Not tried these new Betas yet.
