**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Pretty sure he won't need to use it now, but iirc @TNA was using it when he was trying to get games to run the highest settings available within 8Gb.:p

I do it manually. No need for their app. There is a guide out there. You extract the driver, delete all but a handful of folders and edit three lines using notepads++

Easy peasy.

@Neil79 Thanks very much for the tip, just tried 522.06 vs 516.94 and with locked clocks i gained about 5% in Farcry 6, more than that in Cyberpunk. Genuinely had to do a double take, i've not seen a performance uplift like that from a driver in more than a decade.
edit: I'm on a 3090

:cool::cool: You're welcome!

Hmm I gained around 7FPS on average in Dirt 4 if that matters?

That's why I was interested in the driver update! ;)

Run a few games let me know if the suggested few % fps improves if you get chance.

Not sure if just a thing fixed in drivers but I realize my last playthrough of Borderlands 3 has no stutter with my 5800X unlike previously with my 5600X. Drivers fixed this or is this just a side effect of 8 cores?

Hard to say as different areas.

I can't say I noticed any stuttering in BL 3 on my 5600x (undervolted to -30) @ 3440x1440. I'm very tempted to pick up a 5800x3d though so be interested to hear if you have noticed any other games benefiting from the 5800x over the 5600x?

Do it, I saw some huge gains in my main game, FFXIV, I don't have the comparison video of the benchmark I did with a 5800X vs 5800X3D but the differences were very noticeable, FPS counter top left.

Albeit this was at 1080P but there were still very decent gains at 1440P, 1440P ultrawide and 4K.

You know the worst thing I hate about todays games or gaming. Remember the days you could play games on older drivers and still not have issues? but today you get popups from the game telling you to update your drivers. Doom Eternal, Spider-Man does it, many others has been following this.

Disconnected from Bethesda.net

Surely most of them are just pushing good practice ('your driver can be updated to the latest'). Apart from some security holes being patched most of these platform environments are telling you out of habit. If you drill into the fixes you can see if it helps your setup.

Come on... My drivers are only a few months old. It's not like it's a year old.
