**THE NVIDIA DRIVERS THREAD**

Just ran a quick test with Ass Creed 4. Now plays smooth as silk at a constant 60fps, totally maxed out on my system (apart from physx which has to be at low or off - it seems to be completely broken as you get terrible constant stutter at any settings above this for v little gain).
I also find it best to disable vsync in game and do via nvcp instead.

Before this driver it used to drop to the 50's in certain city parts and chug a bit here and there. Nice! Another definite improvement for me.

Also tried Thief benchmark. No difference at all that I could see. FPS still dip to the 30s(!) right at the start until you go through the arch bit.

Right then this has affected my GPU Clock and Memory speeds.

MSI AB has all the same settings but GPUZ is now reading GPU Clock as: 1202 and Memory 1502.

Previously it was 1282 and 1877Mhz.

I need to tinker with the overclocks again.

Anyone getting the same?

Mine haven't changed

Thats after Tomb Raider benchmark which gets the same fps as the last driver

and Firestrike scores lower.

This is with SLI 780s water cooled.

Nice magnified Chart scaling there Nvidia, lol :D

"GeForce + DX11 12% Faster"

I thought these Drivers are meant to remove the CPU Bottleneck, like Mantle, 12% is as good as nothing compared to the triple digits Mantles CPU Scaling improvement has.

Still "every little helps" :)

These are Dx11 tweeks to make it faster in selected titles. Its not mantle, nor professes to be mantle. Stop trolling mate :)

Nor did it say it would completely remove any bottlenecks, improve them yes.

Also its beta (remember shoving that one down everyone's throat on mantles release?)

Its fine, with all the noise over these i was expecting a lot more from them.

The performance scaling is useless to me, and thats a shame.

They've been out a few hours and the people that have tested them so far have insanely powerful systems that will hit a natural bottleneck anyway in performance. Wait until people with slower systems try them in the games mentioned and then criticise the performance of them.

I still can't believe that people have such retarded brand loyalty that they feel the need to be hyper critical whenever the other "camp" does something lol. Graphics cards are a simple choice, not a sodding lifestyle.

downloading now and will be testing on both my 780 ti sli system and my dads 760 system. Expecting far bigger gains on my dads pc than mine though as his cpu is far older than mine (but still good)

Nice James and look forward to seeing if it does boost big time on older CPU's :)

Edit:

Do people think this thread would be better now in the nVidia drivers thread? If so, I will ask a mod to merge it.

Good post.

You've hit the nail on the head.

Agreed Gee.

No need to get upset, i think you misunderstand.

Ok. i will wait and watch. :)

Has anyone tried these in Heaven or 3DMark?
Could we be seeing new world records soon?

Are these improvements specific to the games listed in the patch notes or do they apply to all DX 11 titles to some degree? (I imagine some will benefit more than others)

As my sig shows I'm currently all AMD so can't benefit from these new drivers :(
I do like this idea though, especially if it applies across the board to all DX 11 games. As opposed to the 1 game per month we get with Mantle (or is it currently less than 1 game per month?).
I like what Mantle does and hope DirectX 12 will do the same, in the mean time this is a nice stop gap.

Just tried 3dmark11 and the gfx tests seemed to run give or take same fps but when I got to the physics test the performance tanked and was 3.9 fps and then 2nd test stuck on the loading screen and I had to restart the pc.

Tried 2 runs same thing both times.

Edit to say went back to old drivers and it did the same thing so reinstalled these new ones and re downloaded another 3dmark 11 and it ran ok this time and scored just short of my pb score done on higher clocks so all good again.

It did sound too good to be true when originally posted, still some gains from reducing CPU overhead though so it should help those with AMD processors and rubbish old ones.

It's nice to know there's lots of performance still to come from DX12 as well.
