**The OcUK Benchmarks thread!**

If I can I'll re run bf3 tonight and do another clock for clock vs gregsters 680 and vs 12.9 so we can put to bed this seemingly ignorant conclusion that 7970 +12.11 destroys the 680 in bf3.

My personal guess is that the difference will be 1-3 fps difference on average and minimums to the 'winner'.

The gains are far more impressive, used to run 1150/1650 on 12.9 for complete smoothness on full ultra but can comfortably run stock GE 1050/1500 on 12.11b4 for the same smoothness at 1080.

In case anybody is interested in F1 2011 Benchmark..

Same GPU & CPU clocks i used in BF3 and 1080p max settings including 8xMSAA.

In-game bench..

results samples="10254" min_fps="75.214951" av_fps="91.225021"

I dont think there is much change in this title.

Aaaaand here we go gents:

That is a mahoosive gain on the averages from 12.9 to 12.11

Huge gains, is it impressive or shameful?
Impressive such gains were given or shameful it took so long to see?

I'm sitting in the middle, I've always expected to be sitting behind the 670 in BF3, not level peg with a 680 C4C.

There it is, Nvidia + BF3 dethroned at last.

Please don't hit me Nvidia loyalists, you have had your time. Now its our turn :D

J/K ^^^ of course :)

Great results guys. AMD seriously kicking ass atm.

Here's my bench of a quick session online.

Pgi, you should worry about overclocking the memory now, core is not so important in bf3 any more becuase of these drivers. Even running the core at 1125 is more than fast enough.

It was only for a clock for clock comparison, I tend to game at 1070/1400 which I find is enough even pre-12.11. Will be seeing what the memory can do in heaven at the weekend, I wonder if correction limits have changed with the gcn tweaks. Could settle around 1950 with 12.9.

And as rusty said, no brand bashing even if it is said in jest, its just a de-railing argument ready to happen :)

The differences in performance is roughly the 5% or so we saw between the 680 & 7970 with 12.9. Can't go wrong with either card imo.

What's the margin now with multi cards over a large resolution? As I understand the amd cards tend to perform better even with older drivers, has that margin now increased significantly?

Speaking of next gen, we must be due a refresh on amd's top line sometime in the next 5 months, either that or they could really wait for nvidia to move, they no longer have to play catch up like they did with the 580.

My own reading on the subject shows that on nVidia favoured games, they were about even on triple screen and overclocked.

Anything else AMD cards had a lead, allbeit not a massive one. It was surprisingly close on the old drivers when you consider how much of a better card the 7970 is on paper for triple screen.

Now I would imagine that the 680's are anything from slightly slower to 10-15% slower.
