• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

**The OcUK Benchmarks thread!**

Do you play ANY games 8 Pack?

Start the thread up if you wish, I'm sure it will be very popular, most bench threads are, I've done a few Vantage benches before but can't remember my scores at all, I also found Vantage heavier on the system then 3dm11 :)

Just make sure to set some basic rules i.e. what should be posted.

I've been getting like that lately, turn PC on to play a game then end up playing with settings until something stops working :p

Oh, I ended up buying a bench table...

Ok, how do i bench Metro 2033? what level? Physx enabled...? ect

Edit, never mind, Steam is a pile of junk, no sound in game so i ran a cache check and it deleted the whole game and downloaded the whole thing again to reinstall, after that it did the same thing, so i ran the check again and it deleted the whole thing again..... 3 times it did this.

This game isn't going to run, it just keeps deleting and downloading the same broken files over and over again.

Junk!

I hate Steam, i much prefer a good old fashioned Disk!

Figured this would be the best place to ask this and to save making a whole new thread:

So what really is the number one single GPU graphics card on the market today?

Is it the 7970 or the GTX 680?

If you read GTX 680 reviews, they show the 680 being aroud 10% faster in most games, but a lot of people on these forums say the 7970 is faster. So what's the deal. Is that based on overclocked-vs-overclocked. I.e. is 680 faster at stock, but the 7970 overtakes it when both are overclocked due to more generous voltage limits and a bigger bus on the 7970?

The GTX 680 was faster early on, but AMD improved the drivers to the point where they now overtake Nvidia.
Those reviews are based on old out of date drivers.
Right now the 7970 is faster :)

Anyway, i will have a sniper elite v2 bench later, is anyone still updating this thread?

:D

Did you get a new one or just stick with the WF pal?

If you got a new one, what did you go for?

Do you still have your 570 as it would be very interesting to test it out and give us some results using it in Hybrid PhysX!;)

It's soo easy to Hybridize the combo.

:)

I bought one of the reference MSI ones that was on offer last week. Decent price and at least I know it can be properly overclocked.

Can't wait!

GTX 570's gone though unfortunately. Sold it on the MM.

Was it the MSI OC?

Matt and myself have one, his is on a high Asic whereas mines is low Asic.

Great cards, although it took me an awful lot of tweaking to get it going as good as Matts due to the low Asic, if you need any help, give us a shout. :)

It is mate. I'll make sure to post my OC Unigine results and what not.

The secret is in adding a touch to the vram voltage in AB-and it can get you onto ~1150/~1800MHz, it gives some of the best gains in combination of 1150MHz or more on the core.

But don't dive in, take your time, there is details in the 12.11 performance thread on how to tweak settings.

:)
