The old keyboard works with the new airs. The old magnetic pencil also works with the new Airs.
I took my old iPad Pro in with its keyboard and clipped them up as I bought the m4 as I was thinking about getting the air for my missus and giving her the keyboard and pencil to go with it.

I was like on the fence regarding the pencil I had one before but never used it. Just like when I had the Samsung note phones I never used it but for some reason I am willing to give this new pencil a go.

Sadly not the 2nd Gen pencil I have. I got confused and thought it would work so I'll have to sell that thing.

That's great news, we have the 4th gen air and it's a write off, damage to the case and damage to the screen. We have the Magic Keyboard, and we were weighing up the options. Sounds like a new Air might be the answer.

Strongly advise waiting.
I just took delivery of a case for my M2 13" Air and it is clearly an iPad Pro case from last year as it is way too early to have legit 2024 cases out. I fitted my M2 Air to it and whilst it fit fine, the speakers on the Air were partly covered so I chucked in a refund request in.

Thanks. Really annoying though, I don’t even want to unbox it before having a stand up case to put it in.
I’ve also got to work out how to change my physical sky sim to an eSIM.

Know what you mean completely. I always slap a vinyl decal on my iPads just to protect that rear from marks. Then I lob the device in a case. It feels wrong holding a naked iPad like this as I know it’ll pick up some marks on the back.

Did that myself with Sky a few months ago (when I got my 15PM actually). Was very straightforward and no issues for me

The last iPad I had was the 2018 pro 11” and this is so much better, the thinness and the screen make it a joy to use, hated that the 11” was stuck with a crappy screen for so long.
It’s awesome isn’t it. Did you go for the nano texture option? The reduction in glare is brilliant!

Is anyone having issues with the YouTube app on the m4 13 ? It works in browser but the app doesn’t want to play the videos so strange

I Don’t seem to have that issue. But I remember years ago I had a problem with the YouTube app and apple devices.
But funny I can never install whatsapp. I remember this being an issue on my M1 IPad Pro.
So like many other here I got the new iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard pro for this year. I don’t know what it is there seems to be something off about the Magic keyboard. I don’t know what it is but I can’t seem to put my finger on it. I mean the function keys are a nice addition for sure. And the build quality seems to be better. But I prefer the older Magic Keyboard and dare I say it the older track pad. Maybe it just an adjustment period needed.
Also kinda low key disappointed it is not backlit. A backlit keyboard and maybe just one or two ports would have been superb.
As for the IPad itself it seems fine. I will have a proper play with it over the weekend as I got it update and just rearranging my apps to how I like it. So can’t wait till to spend more time with it.
