Just picked up a EEE PC 1000H (brand new and sealed) which I'm typing on now and having a bit of a battery issue - it doesn't seem to want to charge past 71%. Even if I turn the EEE off, it still won't go beyond that point. The charging process is definitely working because the battery started on about 35%.

I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in.

Update is it doesn't work ! my 900 EEE is the 12gb version with 2 drive s and the 4gb onboard one is locked as a master and the Runcore drive will not function correctly with it !

Runcore know about this now apparrently and are updating the drives ! so looks like its rma time ! great :)

Sure I read on eeeuser.com that you need to disable the 4GB SSD to be safe......try that in BIOS ?

You can't disable the onboard 4 Gb drive, you can in the bios but in reality it still boots up and will try and boot from the 4gb drive.

I got a 900a now and the runcore drive works perfect with it, just need to nlite windows and it should be stupidly quick. :)

Need to get rid of my old EEE PC 900 now.

Just to update this the battery was indeed faulty and was replaced. I now get around 7.5 hrs battery life and have also bought an 8 cell battery which gives me 9.5 hrs (wi-fi on, screen on 2-3 brightness).

Wi-fi off, screen on minimum and I get 11.5 hrs :D Of course it's not much use with wi-fi off, but it's still nice.

I used Acronis Trueimage to create a bootable flash drive (8gb) containing TrueImage. Then I did a full backup to a folder on the flash drive.

After switching the SSD cards in the 900 I booted from the flash drive (press escape during power on) and restored the image to C:
That was it.

Got an EEE 901 about 3 months ago, they're really easy to upgrade.

So far I've added a 80gb 1.8" hard drive as well as the SSD, installed 2gb of RAM, installed windows 7 beta alongside windows xp (which actually works really well), and built a custom battery that gives me ~24hours battery life on power saving with the wifi/bluetooth off and the screen turned down to low brightness.

Next project is internal HSDPA.

Both are SSD drives so there won't be much difference.

There is now a newer bios available for the Celeron 900 and it lets you upgrade the SSD without messing about around when you install windows from scratch.

It wasn't available earlier so i bought an EEE 900 A (Atom) and stuck the runcore drive in that as I needed a quick fix at the time. :)

let us know if theres any significant difference in battery life (HDD vs SSD) :)
