Nv are 4 to 6 months behind with their card.By the time they launch ati will have a refresh ready and a x2.Next gen nv will cost between 5 and 6 hundred smackers.If you want to wait and see what Nv has to offer then at least these 5870s with be £250 by then.
 
i've ordered my 2x5870's too, have a consignment number and everything, i dont think too many things will stop us getting our 5870's tommorow
 
Graphics Card all about cold hard facts. When it comes to opinions it depends what company you'd rather bum.

And a lot of NV lovers I've noticed on here never seem to just give up and always have to justify their precious cards. I mean if you like it GREAT, just stop arguing wether it was justified. At the end of the day if you're happy with the purchase, play a ******* game already.

It tires me out. :p
 
Very good results from both cards, I still think there a little overpriced, I was more expecting £250 and £180

Its really annoying I have this urged to buy one even though I don't play games much anymore and I already have a capable 4850, LOL I think I'm going to wait and see what the competition offers and prices go down

Ah, the only valid defense a troll can use. Of course, it's true that everyone is entitled to their opinoin, but if it's stupid, crude, annoying or just plain idiotic and childish, your rights to expect to be taken seriously are automatically revoked in my world, and I suspect, in the world of others who's IQ breaches room temperature, and who can succesfully win a battle of wits with a mouldy potato.

However, as a retort to trolling imbeciles with nothing constructive to add to, well, anything at all, we're entitled to let our mouse cursors hover over the 'Report Post' button and report trolls, muppets, and anyone vaguely annoying who is detracting from the general ambience of the forum.

We're not saying that everyone has to like the card [although I'm trying my best to explain why the 58xx series is better than the 4870x2 to a small audience tonight] but frankly, making snide remarks to other users at the expense of the OCUK staffers [and the users in question] following a stock **** up isn't big, or clever, or funny, and if you think it is, then bully for you.

But you're quite, quite wrong.
 
I love how a lot of you are really desperate to get the card tho :P and can't even wait till Monday, its quite amusing ;) Better see some results when you get them!

wow some nice O/C there. Will need to water cool though.
Im still waiting to see what the X2 brings to the table. Have got my pennies saved up. Will also need EK and the likes to bring out some blocks of course
 
It's a synthetic 5850 though, based around a 5870 that was softmodded to reflect the 5850s specs, so it might not be 100% accurate. Should be a good estimate though.

Edit: D13 beat me to it :(

If those techpower theory benches are accurate then damn, the £200 5850 will be oh so tempting
 
To anyone thats ordered one of these from OCUK... has your order been dispatched yet? mine hasn't even though i ordered at 7am...
 
Nvidia release GTX 380

Nvidia today launched the GTX 380 with the following specs;

  • 850Mhz
  • 1gb GDDR5
  • 1600 shaders
Nvidia designer Helmut Cheese stated "We're proud to go one lower and rename one of ATI's cards rather than our own"
