Boxing and MMA are not the same sport. A good striker in MMA doesn't mean they'll be a good puncher in boxing. There is a reason Jake Paul is able to fight older MMA legends and put them away. Boxers train soely punching and footwork, nothing else. MMA guys have to train in multiple disciplines. An average boxer should always beat a good MMA striker in the ring and the opposite is also true.

Yet Ngannou managed to knock down a reigning champion... Jake Paul is most likely paying people to take a fall, he did in the early fights, that's clear to see.

There's nothing to say Ngannou can't continue boxing training either! He'll be more focused than an over the hill non-striker MMA fighter.

That says more about Fury than Ngannou. I'm not discrediting Francis. I expected to wake up to the news Fury finished him within 4 rounds. So my mind was blown when i heard it went to the judges, a SD and Fury was dropped. That was not on the cards.

Nope and I hope he does because it sounds like his story is amazing but I'm not expecting him to go far in boxing. But it'll be nice for him to make some money without Dana White the leach.

Pretty hilarious that the thing which has taken Fury’s aura first is a Micky Mouse fight he just took for the money :p

from the shape of him he obviously didn’t take it seriously and nearly got found out.

Having said that I do think he’s massively on the decline and knows it hence all the ridiculous stuff and dodging he’s done the last few years. Treat your body like he does and as Ricky Hatton found out eventually it won’t work for you anymore.

Ngannou comes across so well in interviews even after that decision, very likable guy

Used to be fan of fury but gone off him just all the dodging going on for years

Chisora part 4 here we go

Hahahaha knocked down and a split decision against a first time boxer. This is why he’s the biggest fraud in boxing

Bonkers isn't it. He should be ashamed but he wont be. He is not seeing Usyk in the ring.

But he's never in shape. He;s never body beautiful and still performs when he looks like that. He actually looked quite thin in the face I thought, so he clearly did work.

He's just not who he says he is. "No man born from his mother can beat me... unless they've just took up boxing"

Just watching this and G-Man brings up what I've been saying. The comparison between this fight and Floyd vs Connor is telling

Shape of him ? He didn't really look any different then he did Vs Wilder ? That's probably the best he is ever gonna look he isn't blessed in that department lol Maybe didn't have the conditioning , I was expecting Ngannou to gas out more in the later rounds and fury to take advantage just never came

Just watched the highlights of the fight I actually wanted to see. Wardley vs Adeleye.

Absolutely love the way Fabio fights. You can see he is raw and has no amateur experience but I love that his response to getting hit is to hit back immediately.

It’ll likely ultimately lead to his undoing but it’s an exciting style to watch and it makes me a fan

Caught up this morning whilst packing to come home.

The Wardley fight was a decent scrap, not sure how much further he can go until the lack of experience starts to hold him back, but you get the feeling he's got some good fights to come yet. He definitely handles Frazier Clarke if they ever end up making that fight.

Main event, wow, what an absolute embarrassment team Fury have just brought to the sport. I wasn't keeping score but it felt pretty close, which in itself is a massive L for Fury, even before the knockdown.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the Usyk fight doesn't happen again, he looked shell shocked and embarrassed, you could tell the whole team felt they got away with one, John Fury silenced for once.

I honestly feel that Fury might have been slightly shot for a little while now, that coupled with inactivity and simply not taking things seriously has come to haunt him here. What a way to taint your legacy (not that there is really one).

That’s the thing. He hasn’t got much of a legacy to taint but he’s giving it a good go.

He had a decision over Wladamir (full credit for that) but then ran away from the agreed rematch to go on a drug bender and on his return faced Wilder 3 times, Whyte (fair enough, mandatory) and Chisora.

He’s exposed himself

Completely agree.

I don't understand some of the pundits that blow smoke up his arse and say he could complete in any era either, based purely on his size and movement (of which seems to have left him since his comeback). At least some of those will have egg on their face too.

The biggest pain is this now legitimises this rubbish. Everyone here said this shouldn't be happening and a complete joke of a mismatch. Now they can keep on doing this and Warren was right and you were all wrong.

No idea why all the AJ talk, the man is terrified to throw a punch now in case he gets hit back. If Francis had hit him once I doubt his head would have poked out of his shell again for 5 years.
