**** The Official Chinese Phones Thread ****

My wife is in China at the moment, looks like she might be picking me up an Huawei Mate 8. Should be a decent upgrade from the Samsung S4 i have at the moment.

been impressed with the battery on my redmi note 2 32gb. infact the phone in general has been great so far... its on par with my lost z3 in every way except half the price and not waterproof. but then probably more cpu power

Been eyeing it up after seeing your posts on playing with one :D

How easy was it to root and what ROM/android version are you running?

Had a play with the vodafone smart ultra 6 which was nice, but just seemed soo much less configurable than my dead N5, and just seemed to lack how fluid the N5 was. Considering an LG G4 as it looks to be the perfect phone all around, but then that's £300+.

Got my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 just the other day.

It was quite hard working getting it all set up initially, but I think I'm there now.

The specs seems almost identical to the Note 2? Aside the fingerprint reader and bigger battery. Are all the other parts literally the same?

I've had my Redmi Note 2 for about 3 months now. I wish the camera was better. The shutter is too slow so pictures turn out bury. In low light pictures are not great. I want to be able to take quick snaps (in low light).

I'm used to MIUI 7 now, but when I use a Marshmallow device, I'm left thinking that I wish the Redmi was running stock Android.

I've not had it happen before, I've used import devices, but my contacts haven't appeared on the Redmi Note 3 despite having added my Google account. Anyone experienced this before?

Whats the next best chinese phone then still rocking the first One Plus but starting to get annoyed with the battery life.

Any decent replacements about or on horizon?

Was tempted by that. Amazon will be stocking it in the next few days. A "UK spec" version. Looks pretty good. Meizu are known for good build quality.

So it is. £389, available from Jan 4th. That extra £90 puts me off tbh.

**EDIT** My bad, that's the 64GB version. 32GB is £349.

Gearbest have the note 3 on offer. I'll take a punt at their service as its £117 with extras for the note 3!

edit:- Hmmm but that is from the china warehouse.

Wondering if the price of Huawei Mate 8 is cheaper in China
I paid £440 for the 128gb version. On eBay I've since prices of around £600 for the same, but I guess this is because there is no international version.

Everything about the phone is great, battery, camera, screen and performance. The only issue is that push notifications are a bit random which is very annoying. I've done a lot of reading and it appears this is because of the aggressive power manager app which can the disabled unless you have root.

Just purchased a new honor 7 for 170. As it would have been rude not to. :) if it turns out not so great I'll sell it on and go back to my trusty z3c (again) :D most of the reviews are okay, bar the battery life which is mixed usage.

Wish there was decent stock Android for the redmi note 2 but got used to miui now

By decent i mean miui rom gives me 6 hours screen on time whilst the lollipop Roms are being unstable and few hours less !

Hopefully the marshmallow based muiu roma come soon !

Hmm and I'd be worried about 16gb. The 3 doesn't have an SD slot does it ?

I've been looking at a mi4 to have a play with . snapdragon so lots of good Roms ! Including ab officialish windows 10 port !
