Did the new tool measure anyones connection speed? Everyone on the battle.net forums mentioned that they had been measured however it says nothing about it when I run the tool.

Unlucky. :(

I guess it's not unreasonable that they only offer the beta to people that have supported them previously.

Not really, its petty bs. Over the years I think I've bought no less than 3 copies of Diablo 2 but those CD Keys have gone the way of the dodo. The same for WC2+3 and Starcraft. I have no interest in WoW and I've not been bothered about SC2 which leaves me with nothing.

why is it that Diablo 2 keys stop working all the time?
I just don't get it!

O_o So it's their fault you've lost your keys for all their games? How would you prefer they kept track of who has and hasn't bought their games? Telepathy?

It's a very limited beta, why exactly shouldn't they prioritise people that have supported them?

Total and utter nonsense....

Gold has the potential to be inflated to unreal amounts - in Diablo 2 you'll struggle to find any long term player who isn't gold capped at 9999999999 gold. It's literally worth nothing. If Diablo 2 had a cash and gold AH, no one would buy or sell a single thing on the gold AH.

Of course, that could be different in D3, we'll have to wait and see. Most likely, items will have stable price in the cash AH and inflate at an absurd rate in the gold AH.

I don't think that will happen, if gold suffers the inflation it did in Diablo 2 it just won't be used at all, if not then I expect one AH to become dominant. What will fluctuate is the exchange rate of gold to cash which I expect to see fairly substantial inflation on. But realistically I think Blizzard have learned enough to put substantial brakes into the valuation of Gold, how many people are gold capped in WoW?

Picked up Diablo 2 and after playing it for a couple of nights, I can definately say I'm picking up Diablo 3! Looking forward to it, have submitted my specs and registered interest in Beta, fingers crossed!

When exactly where these games released again? Oh thats right, a decade ago. With as I recall, for D2 at least, the CD Key put on some sticker on the front of the CD case
Since then I've not bothered to play them much and the only one I have played lately (D2) was dl'd because they are kidding themselves if they think I'm buying it again.

They've not exactly got the best catalogue of games. D2 was 2000 and WC3 was 2002, since then they've done practically nothing but WoW.

At least one ACTUALLY capped an account out, the cap then got raised. Not many though. Not people who are obtaining it legit at least.

I'll have to admit I never could get into Diablo II because I played Sacred Gold first which was a much more updated version, and now I have Sacred 2 and Torchlight.

I ought to give Titan Quest another try as well.

I'm not surprised to be honest, but I suspect it was a goal he set himself rather than something that just kind of happened like it does in D2. Even if it did just kind of happen I know I've never been short of things to buy in WoW and just stopped picking it up in D2.

A money maker for sure but there was no "known" cap as a goal. At the time nobody was aware one existed. I think even Blizzard were a little taken by it at first :p

It only came around because he was unable to loot currency from corpses :D

I'm not sure what your point is...

Regardless of their age and placement, you've still lost the keys that prove ownership of them. Blizzard didn't sneak into your house in the middle of the night and hide them.

But despite it being completely your own doing, you're still trying to point the finger at Blizzard and blame them. Seriously?
