I had to make it more obvious? Its exactly the same but without the arbitrary pre-requisite.

This is getting tedious. Apparently you aren't aloud an opinion in this thread if it contradicts what 'the mob' thinks

Same in many forums EvilSod :p, if you disagree with the majority you are either branded a Troll, Stupid or don't bother visiting thread if... :p

You're 'aloud' whatever you want dear...

People are commenting because what you're saying is stupid. Not because it's a "mob".

They need to weed down millions of applicants to a few hundred thousand. They're selecting by hardware, they're picking from people that have bought one of their games, and people that have stated an interest in betas for the Diablo universe. It's as good a way as any to quickly narrow down what would be a huge number of applicants.

How would you pick them then? Randomly from people that have lost their keys I presume?

Just to say, apparently the system profile software has had an update, and Blizzard recommend you update your settings with it, even if the hardware in your system hasn't changed. I didn't notice a different when I updated, but they said there is a change.

Go update your system profile if you haven't already.

Do you need a diablo key, or just any key on your .net account? I have W3/FT and WoW but I lost my old D1/D2 keys since I haven't played them in years. Was tempted to pick them up till I noticed the joke that is Blizzards pricing on a 10 year old game.

Any game.

WC3, SC, D2 are dirt cheap brand new elsewhere as retail copies, I wouldn't dream of paying the battle.net prices.

Out of curiosity - is having D2 registered on my account a requirement to be in the D3 beta or is this outrage coming from people that haven't registered any of Blizzard games on their b.net accounts?

Diablo 2 isn't exaclty cheap. Even in retail the D2 pack is like £30, the prices went up around the time D3 was announced and have stayed there ever since. I bought my WC3/TF for a fiver each though a few months back when I fancied some TD.

Blizz have said that certain items will be Soulbound and untradable. The vast majority won't though. :)

You can get D2 and LOD for a fiver each easily. It's cheaper than £30 to buy them both through battle.net.
