I know what you mean. If I got a key it'd be awesome, but even then I still might not use it. I kinda want my first playthrough to be full and complete.

That said, the majority of people who sign up for beta's just want to play it early or are young and stupid and think raging about some random complaint with the game systems is helpful to anyone. Maybe the people who would think twice about accepting a beta key are the ones who really should join..

I don't want to play the class that I will on my first play through on the beta. I more want to see all the changes to skills and such. :)
 
It's been hinted that sometime in September is the time for the beta. It's sooooo long since they showed that first demo, it seems I've been excited for this game for the longest time. Not long to wait now though hopefully.
 
It's best to just look forward to the release, it's not like an MMO where everyone will eventually get into beta. They'll give it out to a few hundred and that'll be it.

There will certainly be more than a few hundred invitations. Also, there is the possibility that pre orders will recieve beta access.
 
They've said that the beta isn't for game testing. Rather they want to continually stress test the new hardware system. So, there should be waves of invites I hope, if not a steady stream.

Well there are strong indications that it will be.

Especially when it was penned for the beginning of August, if its any later its going to bring in delays on the offical release - which is (at the moment) still Christmas iirc.
 
I'm looking forward to the Beta info even if I don't get an invite, really starting to feel the need to play a nice hack and slash RPG again.

I am so unsure what my first character class will be though, my fav in Diablo 2 was the Bowazon, but not sure if I want to play the Demon Hunter... oh too many choices they all look pretty awesome so far. :D
