But..buut... argh god my head, why would you buy it for a chance instead of just buying the actual item.
What I'm saying is, what is the whole point, just ID it, sell it. End, no if's or buts, just do it.

As mentioned, its gambling.

Identified item is worth 1000g
Unindentified is worth 10g
Cost to vendor is 1g

Seller gets 9g more, buyer potentially gets a 1000g item for 10g.

Then there's my point, you'd have to be stupid to sell an unidentified item for 10g when there's a potential 1000g sale in it.

Well it's more about what will sell. Depending on how far in the ladder is, people are either going to buy an item with high stats or a unid one with the chance of high stats. If you want to be able to make profit faster then you would sell the unid item, rather than identifying and probably having to find someone with no items, looking for the cheapest item they can find. If you were rich then you would identify it. Also, people like the idea of luck.

I wasn't talking about selling items to merchants, I was talking about selling items to other players on Battlenet. End game items which are sold on d2jsp for fg. In-game gold is worth next to nothing.

It does look good. Looking at the gameplay videos, I'm still undecided about the class. The eles looks pretty powerful with AOEs, the monk looks tricky (melee with low survivability?) but fun with combos, the hunter and warrior look a bit generic, the witch doctor could be fun at high levels.

From the Guild Wars perspective, and since most of the RPGs share the same DNA, monk looks to play like assassins (chaining combos, hit and run), witch doctors as necromancers, hunters as rangers, eles as, well, eles.

Can't wait to get some co-op going.

Was in a 'game' store yesterday and they had diablo 3 cases there for pre-order. no sausages was just a blank case with the d3 name take printed on it.

Edit: i don't know where that sausage bit came from... stupid predictive.

I feel you're being ridiculous optimistic with regards to the release date. I'd expect no sooner than June personally.

Balancing takes forever.

thats why i said or later , if it is reasonable balanced they can release it anyway , as they going to do loads of balancing in patches and etc.

How can i get into the beta other than doing it through my battle.net account? I have had my beta profile on my account since they announced Diablo III going beta, still no luck. Do they still even do it this way?
