Think I'll go get a shower anyway, its clearly not gonna be playable any time soon so no rush.
Just so people know, there are no EU servers, you have to set it to 'THE AMERICAS' in the options (and be using the beta client).
Where are you guys getting all this information from?
The point is to see how much interest they get I would have thought rather than throwing their full server capacity at it.
Blizzard can now see how many people connected/tried connecting and can see how many people they can handle per server/cluster or however they work things in their data centres.

You'ld at least think that Blizzard, the richest and most popular game studio would be better than this.
Well surely if they are just testing how many connections are being made, then they would have made it a 2MB download file rather than 2GB and annoy a hell load of people

If you are connecting from a non-US #D3 client, be sure to change your region to "The Americas" in your game options for the open beta.
