Though, as you have noted. The GW2 beta isn't open, its for people who have pre-purchased.

The server capacity is being completely saturated, there would be no difference in having specific overflow servers than having extra servers in general.
 
Has anyone had the launcher stuck on "updating setup files"? My system just crashed and took out an AE project so I'm not best happy..

This just worked for me:

What I did (running on Win7 - 64bit)

Before you do this:
- make sure to remove any agent.exe processes

After:
- goto your programdata/battle.net folder
- look up Agent.868
- Launch the app
- You will notice a bunch of readings in a cmd prompt
- Open your beta installer from wherever you have it (in my case downloads)
- in about 5 mins or so, you should be directed right to the installer

Hopefully this works for those who have had trouble with other solutions.

Also set the agent app to XP compatibility and run as admin. The first time just doing that fixed it.

I think you should be connecting to the US servers rather than the EU servers. Which means a whole new client download AFAIK. I am getting error 3003 as well (meaning the servers are down for maintenance) but other people are either playing or getting different errors relating to max server capacity which makes me think I should be using the US client instead.

you should be, the US one is the only one thats gone live.

(oh client, nvm, you can use any)

Doesn't matter what client you use, I downloaded the EU client and playing the US server now.
 
I think it's just the case of randomly displaying errors. After copy pasting my password in repeatedly I sometimes get the "Incorrect Password" message

edit: Nevermind, copy+pasting your password doesnt actually enter the password, just a bunch of actual *'s. Well that was my past half an hour wasted. :o
