If any of you guys are struggling then feel free to add me, I'm pretty much just farming T13 to get a better set for pushing the higher GRs as my current build is more of a speed farmer. Don't mind boosting people in need :)

Battletag is Parky#2963 I think, I'm on most nights.
 
I wish the seasons were shorter. I always seem to hit that point where your only upgrades are ancient pieces and the game suddenly becomes boring.

Oh I get you, Gen Monk was insanely aids to play IMO but very strong back when I had full interest in the game, I can't see your character struggling with T60. If staying alive is your issue and not DPS, you could try Near Death Experience. It's very hard to say which passive you could drop for it though.

Monk is my most played class by far and if the rift was even remotely threatening I'd always run NDE, but Uliana's was less passive locked than Gen and that's all I played.
 
Basically yes you need to do rifts to get GR Keys and then do the GR's at the highest level you can clear and hope for that one drop that will boost your DPS/toughness that will allow you to push a higher level. Don't forget to gem up and roll rings/trinkets etc for sockets etc.
 
I've got a long way to go then. I'll probably aim for 1000 before I make/start on my other characters. Aiming for at least all legendaries in all slots.
 
In most seasons I have been able to hit 800-1000 without too much trouble. But I don't really like the "4 man meta groups" and normally prefer to solo push, this means that after 1K Paragon it becomes really slow and I normally wound up getting a little bored.

Upgrades also become harder and harder to get the better your equipment becomes.
 
So last night I attempted gr30 and completed it but For some reason it didn't unlock the next difficulty. I'm guessing it's because I didn't do it inside the time limit as it took about 20 mins to solo but I did complete it and speak to the dude at the end

As you say you need to complete it within the time limit, 15mins. I cleared gr66 last night and missed it by a few seconds, going to run some lower levels for a while and see if I can get a few upgrades. I might even change spec as I'm to fragile at the moment, if I get the wrong combo of mobs or just pull to many I die before I can react.

A Shame its got to be under the time limit as I can survive just not do the damage required!.

looks like its back to the max difficulty I can do to try and find better gear.

I may look at the Thorns build for the Crusader and see how that is
