65 Chiltara kills, still no Gibbering Gemstone :(

Edit: god damn it. 67 and done, waited for me to post and moan.

Edit: Spectrum on first Whimsy. Luck changed.
May I ask what's different about Whimsyshire to make it not useless content now? Not really kept up with season changes just jumped right into 11.

It's alright. At the moment Necromancer is ludicrously overpowered to draw people back in to the game and buy the dlc. They'll nerf him eventually to bring him back in line.

I always come back to D3 for a few weeks, play up until I've realistically got good gear (I'm not spending weeks looking for a 0.1% upgrade) then realise it doesn't really have a point and put it away for a few months.

What's the dlc, 11 quid or something? I'd pay 11 quid for a well polished game that I could play for a few weeks yeah.

What is this game like in comparison to path of exile, is it worth spending the money on?
Much faster pace with way less diversity and creativity, It feels much less sluggish than PoE too but much less meticulous as a result. If you want in depth builds or stat customization D3 doesnt have that. No skill tree, no attributes to level, just a couple skills for each class. The gameplay is great though and repetitive content takes a while to become repetitive IMO.

I would say it was the more 'casual' option of the two.

It has a couple of aesthetic drops, that's about it. Whimsyshire has Spectrum which is a funky looking sword to transmog, and Whimsydale has the butterfly wings.

Whimsydale can spawn a pony named Princess Lillian who can drop the butterfly wings as you mentioned. But it can also drop the Spectrum Sword and the Hamburger transmogrify weapons.
Whimsyshire can spawn a teddy named Sir William who can drop the Rainbow Portrait. It can also drop the Spectrum Sword and Hamburger transmogrify weapons.

Hmm I might give it a miss then, thanks for the answer.

I think they are buffing other characters to be in line with necro, that's according to latest PTR patches.

Like somebody said I believe you can play the game for free up till level 20 or so, I have 2,000 or so hours in D3 and only 100 in PoE if that means anything.

That being said once the Necro hype wears down I will be getting stuck in the new PoE.

In that case ive not really got anything to lose by trying

Well I have finally managed to solo GR30, GR35 and GR40 to unlock the next three difficulties. I don't think I can do GR 45 yet or if I can it maybe cutting it close to the timer

in the end I changed from the Crusader hammer set to the thorns build and so far its doing well. just a matter of now farming the next difficulties to get better gear.

Been playing S11, my first ever season even though I've owned the game for a few years. Necro has just cleared GR76. Really looking forward to the next season to try a new character, already have one of each at 70 but the seasons definitely make it a little more beneficial to play fresh characters

Now that I'm geared (although not maxed by any means) it's a lot of fun, running a standard Rath Singularity Mage but will change it up for a lazystorm at some point. Got my first primal ancient (jess shield) but not had a single ramaldani's gift which would make it almost perfect.
New PTR does look good, brings a lot of other classes/specs up to speed with necro.
