*** The Official Diablo III Thread ***

for people struggling to clear the higher rifts theres a few guides around on what mobs to skip etc. Some classes are obv easier than others for skipping or body pulling lots of packs together to create density.

Theres also a monster progression chart on the OP which shows the best kind of rifts to run.

A lot of it unfortunately is just down to fishing and pure RNG.

Datmodz did mention on his stream that hes gonna do a guide on rift mentality, skipping yellows, what affixes to ignore etc.

So tried a few GR60's and it's just not happening - 20 mins is what it's taking me to do :-/

Tried one GR58 and got through it first time (so close to that GR60 yet so far away :( )

it's the season barb - I have some other gear I swap in and out - I have a focus and restraint I've tried to clear a few rifts with, I have swapped all my gems to diamonds, I have a 2nd hellfire amulet I can swap too, leorics in Kanais cube etc - though one of those combos nedded me a 17 min 18 sec run earlier on G60 - :(

Is anyone able to answer this:

If I am running with Focus and Restraint on my Monk and use 7 (14) Sided Strike to trigger the 50pc damage buff for spending resource, does the 50pc buff work for the 7SS that triggers it?

The only resource spender I regularly use is 7SS so it's the best way for me to maintain the Focus-Restraint resource spender buff.

are you talking about snapshotting? as far as i know snapshotted EP will only apply manually not from the ulianas or gungdo proc.

So what you do is wait for power pylon, BP proc COE proc and then do a mythic rythym buffed EP manually, then do nothing but use SSS to spread that EP around to other packs.

If you can keep at least one mob from the original pack alive you can continue to spread that buffed EP until it drops off due to lack of density or leaving the map etc.

Its very tricky method to get working but if you watch quins 72 clear, or datmodz snapshotting guide it looks like all the top clears will come from that

Working fine for me, did get an odd dc earlier in the day tho, wasnt my net.

Been playing on t4 the the last couple of days, that seems to be about my limit atm tho, dont have enough dps for t5, will plain sets be the next thing to move me up or does it need to be ancient? got my bk's ancient ok, not good rolls, but I've seen the guys on high grifts with worse on the leaderboards.

My profile if anyone has suggestions:

Hmm for some reason it says I only have 538k life, I actually have 623k in game.

Have you got points allocated into max fury in paragon? Your gear only has 12 max fury on it, ideally you want max fury on your gravel which would increase your cc by ~5%. For reference my barb has 185 max fury which is ~37% crit chance while using hota on top of sheet which is also around 40%, plus buffs 13% which equals ~90% cc using hammer skill (solo) in groups I have ~100% cc if a support is using 25+ ice blink gem.

I wouldn't bother with a sub-par hellfire, you really don't need weapon master with this build so it's a wasted HF passive (I'm aware you have another HF), ideally you'd want a well rolled HF with nerves of steel since it can also be used for any other build. Any really well rolled generic amulet should suffice, although a nicely rolled HF or immunity amulet would be desirable. Well rolled stats cc, crit dmg and fire dmg/ main stat would at least let you fish for an easy rift, so it gains priority over a sub-par HF/ immunity imo.

Once you get an amulet with 10%cc drop the 6%cc on helm for 15% hammer dmg. Also striken could be swapped out for taeguk, stricken will be of little help to you, the 25% dmg boost vs. RG is pointless if you can't complete the rift in a reasonable time. If you can keep taeguk stacks up, tip: you can spam battlerage to keep your stacks up, you just have to keep an eye on the amount of fury you have and use force stand still (if you don't have this bound to a key yet you should) and spam hammer skill, if it hits less than 3 enemies it starts to generate fury. It sounds like a lot of work but once you get the play style down it's really fun to play.

Sidenote: More paragon points wouldn't go a miss. Myself I'm not even going to bother pushing solo rifts till I'm at least 750, currently 660.

Just keep playing t4, kill the rift guardian, get the bloodshards then gamble for set items via kadala in town. If you're going for a WW build (which I assume you are) then you will require the wrath of the wastes set

^^ If you want a look at my t8-9 ww speed build

You need lots of crit chance for blood funnel to work it's magic, also 100% uptime on wrath of the berserker is essential so gogok gem lvl25+, obsidian ring, and as much cdr as you can get (gear and paragon)

The passive on my other hellfire is worse - its Boon of bulkathos, and I've no issues with Wotb cooldown as is

Yeh I've maxed out the + fury tab in paragon points

Might just level abit more, do some hellfire runs, 58 - so close - I want me that portrait :P lol

I have stand still bound dont worry :P I know how to play barb :P back in MP10 I enjoyed the WW/HoTA hybrid, just going to take a day or two break and try again come the weekend!

Well I have managed 55 on my wizard that I have played an awful lot and 56 on my Seismic Slam barb that I have played a fraction of the time :p

I would give HoTA a try but don't have a decent weap yet...

So another season of Rift fishing for them, RIP Monks.

High GR have and will always be luck based just down to their nature but Monks are going to be aids if you want to push high, I wouldn't be surprised if at least 500 of the 1,000 ranking Monks this season do the PP EP exploit. Seems like they just aren't a class that will ever have healthy gameplay.

The only way to fix Monks now and make them worthwhile is to fix the PP trick and rollback the Monk leaderboard.

Time to roll a barb I think if I pick it up again, shame, I've been a monk mainly since S2, but I'm not even going to attempt to place on a leaderboard like this.
