*** The Official Diablo III Thread ***

50/50 on this season, looks even easier to get gear. Most of the fun in these games for me is actually finding the gear, now they just hand you a full set. You'd be decked out in a couple of hours.

The free set is a part of the season journey & they dish out 2 bits at a time as you progress through it so will take some time to get it.

I haven't played d3 in ages but tonight I copied over a wiz on the ptr and cobbled together the delsere's set to test. I plan on playing a wiz on season 5 so I thought i'd try it out.

I had really bad gear but paragon 952 so that helped and managed a grift 67 with ease. I think I can pull 70+ with this gear without problems.

Top wiz on PTR has done 85 with the same spec but amazing gear, much higher paragon, really high gems and augmented int on all his items at really high level.

They seem to be aiming for every class to have the same grift cap (around 85 solo) and all classes have multiple set's they can use to get there. I think this will be the best season yet.

Being able to cube redundant gems into your main stat on items will help paragon deficit, so that will help the people that dont bot or play 24/7.

If the lag is fixed (I watched some 4 man on twich last night and didnt see any lag even with a WD in the group!) and its not a paragon race this season i think it will be the best one yet!

Lots of diversity in this patch. I for one am looking forward to it.

Matt

just played acts 3 and 4 on Hard with my Barb and I quite enjoyed it!.

got some better gear but never too sure what I should keep and sell lol got my level up twice so now level 62

Yeah that too! :D

They have upped the exp for solo play to close the gap a bit between solo and group for the new patch.

They also added density to cave maps and shortened them!!!!!

Yeah I read about that on DiabloFans. I'm really curious just how much of a gap it has closed between solo and 4 group play.

Found this resouirce which is live updated and lists the best builds at any given time based on leaderboard clears.

Also links to all the relevant builds

Great link, cheers Sharpy. I'll add it to the main thread instead of listing all the links to the builds on Diablofans like last season :)

Hope so Matt, really missed playing the WD last season but couldn't be dealing with that lag. I think I'll give this league a shot, really missing the game but wish it was harder, more difficult and more diverse, especially looking at games like Path of Exile. Basically if I could get Diablo's gameplay, classes and lore on the backbone of a skill and loot system like PoE I'd never play another game again.

Think I'll be making a return once the new patch drops. Might skip this season all together and just play normal with my Raekor barb.

Charge barbs unite! Raekor is still my favorite spec so I am very happy it is making a return. Time to bounce round the map like a mad thing again.

I will be back for Season 5 as well. Hopefully the 3 month seasons they have planned will be about the right length, season 4 seemed to drag on a bit.

Im enjoying the look of the melee Wiz, have never played Wiz really so it could be a nice change for season 5.

Really its the hardest season in terms of choosing a class for me. Do i choose the class i want to play most, yet may not be viable in groups and therefore end up playin solo all season, or do i go for a class which will be group viable seeing tyhats 99% of my play time.

One thing for sure it wont be support barb.

I'd go for a group spec, all opinion of course but I'd find solo play for a whole season very mind numbing.

I guess group viable would be nice. I am going Barb as always so I will need to have a look at the support barb.

Barb seems to be essential for Ignore Pain so thats one guaranteed spot in groups.

Support WD is also looking like a bit of a lock in and then you have Wiz, DH, Crus fighting for dps spots. Monk seems to be left hanging this season which is fair enough after last season.

Monk has another bad season? We've literally only had one good one which is a shame. No idea why Blizz keep pushing the generic crap classes when they have very well designed ones in the Monk and Witch Doc, yet they've only had 1 season where they were viable carries.
