Does anyone know what class has probably the best set reward from haedrig this season in terms of higher torment/tier running going solo? Perhaps WD don't know much about the the other classes sets?

Sharpy super spread sheet seems to answer that :p

Edit - the class set reward will only work for the first character you make right? Or will you get a chance for each new class this season?

Season's journey will only work once, quote from official site

Be careful, though; each step of the Season Journey will only reward one Haedrig’s Gift (for a total of three bags per Season/one full set of gear), regardless of how many characters you might play in a given Season.

Do I play again or not?

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this game, I think the general gameplay is fun. and I like the way that they put in new things each patch to keep it interesting.

But on the flip side there are several things that mean I won't keep interest on it forever. Primarily:

  • Bounties aren't fun, full stop. Running about looking for the objective in a massive open area gets a big nope from me.
  • At some point I will be 90% done with gearing how I want, and the other 10% is just hoping for perfection, at this stage everything I find is just immediately salvaged more or less, so I lose the "yay got an upgrade" feeling and replace it with "oh look, another piece of junk" :P
  • I also didn't like the way that the meta game was just to speed run GR's over and over, and I guess that is still the case?
  • XP gearing was too good, I'd actually quite like to just solo some rifts every now and then but it's so inefficient compared to group XP rates that it was nuts. Is this being addressed?

On the other hand I am sick of TF2 at the moment, and could use a distraction. Even if I play a bit more casually than I have before I think it can still keep me entertained for a little while.

What might be more interesting is playing a class I really haven't before, and something that can run about/farm at speed would be good. I've played Crusader a lot, same for Barb, I'm not interested in a Monk main, I didn't get on with the DH turret spec (not enough going on to keep it interesting). That more or less leaves me with a few options:

Wizard - probably the class I have played the least.
DH - Not turret spec! I'd guess it's more interesting now with more up to date gear/specs.
WD - Gameplay doesn't interest me as much on this one.

Can either DH or Wizard play a decent support role? Was also sick of being DPS last season only and not having anyone to run GR's with reliably.

Your list is still quite a problem, Bounties are still not fun, when your character is 90% done the game does lose some appeal, and it looks like speed running GRs for XP is still going to happen, paragon levels are way to OP.

One thing they have changed is that the XP difference from group to solo is smaller. Group XP will still be better, but it should not be the massive difference of last season.

Not sure on the Wizard or DH support builds, but the Wizard is pretty good fun in general. I as usual will be going Barb again, and will probably be running a support build for GRs.

Tested out the new IK6R4 Barb build last night and it is pretty powerful, but pretty squishy. I have some pretty good gear so I managed to clear a 70. So far the main problem is my toughness and getting one shot by the rift guardian. I have not augmented any of my gear yet so all that extra strength might help with the toughness.

Overall it is a pretty good spec, but I am not too sure on the whole sprint thing, I might have to test out a R6IK4 build and build for boulder toss damage as I think I might prefer that playstyle.

Still, very happy that Raekor is back in the big leagues.

Am i right in thinking though that now you jump straight tothe bounty objective rather than searching a whole area for it? Swear that was part if the patch or someone mentioned it a few pages back

It shows you either immediately or pretty quickly where the objective is, but you still spawn in at the standard portal point and have to run there. It's chopped off a bunch of time doing bounties, but they are still pretty tedious.

In Bluudshed's guide he says personally he will be clearing the bonus acts? What does he mean the new areas or expanded zones?

edit - hehe sorry just reading up i got the answer now. Apologies :)

RoS now activated.

is it worth playing a crusader to level up normally as if I use him as a seasonal player he looses all his levels etc?

what would be the best thing to do now RoS is installed?

Yes to play seasonal it has to be selected at the very start in character/class creation. So personally i would wait until tomorrow when it officially available. For any characters you create/play now they would be non seasonal and cant be changed unless you use rebirth (when it available) in which resets everything to the start. Which is pointless imo

ty, I will leave the crusader till tomorrow evening then.

is seasonal the same as running through the normal acts or is it different areas all together?

ill be free from 8:30pm Tomorrow night if anyone has any spare spaces in a group :)

Anyone play D3 at 4k?

What kind of setup and framerate do you get if so.

I play at 4K on the Phillips 40" monitor with an MSI 980ti, 4690k. None of it overclocked beyond how it came out of the box. I think it's at 60fps all the time on max settings. Certainly I've never noticed any judder or slowdown whatsoever.

You can run through all the acts from start to finish or you can just start straight away with adventure mode. Personally, if it were me, I would be playing all the acts from start to finish at least once so you can experience the full story mode and then just move to adventure mode after that.

What's the most fun (and viable) Crusader spec? I'm not really a fan of the class but I still don't know what to play in the coming season. Tried Raekor barb last night and I suspect that spamming furious charge will get old quite fast as its not really a barbarian style of play in my opinion.

It'll either be Invoker Thorns or LoN Bombard, depends what you prefer really. Invoker is the free 6 piece set so that might be the best option to start with.

Patch is already out, make sure you update before tomorrow :) The season starts at 4 PM in the UK. Also congrats on 10k!

I have played all the acts before apart from act 5 which gets enabled when installing RoS.

got a barb on level 64 as levelled him up a few times last night.

what is adventure mode? is this accessed from the main menu? saw the tournaments section after logging in when 2.4.0 was installed

Adventure Mode is a different game mode, it lets you play bounties and rifts, but there's no story to it (which is specifically for Story Mode). All end game content is done in Adventure Mode. You can access it by opening up the game settings screen just below the play button when you're at the character screen. On the left side of the window that pops up is two small windows showing Story Mode and Adventure Mode. All content is open in Adventure Mode, you can go anywhere and have all the portals unlocked already. You also start with all the followers and crafting artisans unlocked.
