***The Official Dying Light 2 thread***

Sounds good. Happy to hear early impressions being good. Hopefully this dev will live up to what they promised unlike CDProject, as I really want to see choices I make shape the world and have an impact. That would really add replay value also as you fancy playing again to have a slightly different experience.

£55 on STEAM or £35 on CDleys.... hmm yeah easy decision that one lol.

Yeah a no brainer that one, I dont generally buy pre-releases on CDkeys but a £20 saving is just too big to turn down. Will be a cold day in hell before I pay £55 for the base game of a PC game

If you had a time machine and could go back to black friday or winter sales it was £25.99 on CDKeys. That's how much I paid. Was a no brainer pre-ordering as it was a must play game for me, probably the only one on PC this year unless the Starfield or whatever Bethesdas upcoming rpg in space is called comes out.

For those that pre order via key sites, do you consider refunds in the purchase? I'm all for key sites, but only for games that are already out and well established with a good reputation. Surely it's safer to order through Steam, try it for an hour, get a feel for it and wait for user reviews. Worst case, refund for the full amount and buy later on key sites?

Usually if I pre order it is because it is a must play game for me. I am not one to pre-order willy-nilly. Plus you can cancel and get a refund up until release date on cdkeys which is where I usually get my keys. Like this game I am getting for £25.99 (it is a steam key). If I do what you said that price will be a good tenner more for release day as price usually creeps up by then.

Not hard to take a chance on must play games. There is usually enough info out there if you want to know if the game is good enough also if you wanted. ACG did a no spoiler preview which sounds positive enough for me. From what I gathered it is better than the first game in pretty much every way, so I know I will get my money’s worth :D

So yeah, not worst case as you said as going by your plan leaves you out of pocket.

Enjoyed the first one, in fact I still have a lot to do in it as I bought the expansion etc and then didn't really touch it so I'll go back and complete it all before I consider this one. Hope it's as good/better than the original. Not going to get stung and pre-order a digital game though.

Looking forward to this a lot. I really hope it delivers on what they promised. If so I will probably complete it twice back to back making different choices. Assume I am not burnt out by the end of the first playthrough anyway.

I hope it delivers but I bet it's a buggy mess on launch, just like every other AAA release. Loved Dying Light so I hope that it's properly cooked.

I have been waiting too long not to jump in at launch. Look how buggy Cyberpunk was and I really enjoyed playing it at launch and don’t regret doing so at all. As long as they are not game breaking bugs I am ok.

Pre-ordered on CD keys for £25.99 too, Cannot wait for it, loved the 1st one played it though twice on my PS4, Twice on the PC and nearly bought it again on the switch but had to hold back lol

This was a day one buy no brainer even if its abit buggy, Techland support the hell out of dying light still sending updates to this day for new stuff etc so i imagine years of support for this too.

The anti-consumer software Denuvo that can affect gaming performance like we saw with the Resident Evil Village PC release, has just been confirmed in use, perhaps by accident via their tech support.
The DL2 Steam store page was updated shortly after this news broke out with: DRM: Denuvo.

We'll have to see to what extent it's being used in DL2 I guess, only a couple of days away but it is very suspect that it's literally been snuck in under the radar in the last few hours!

The devs were active on the Steam forum but it seems they never posted in any of the older Denuvo threads.
People were generally saying the game wouldn’t have Denuvo as they never used it before and plenty were also hoping for a GOG release.

It seems devs simple waited for as long as possible to confirm it since it could affect their preorder sales.

I've asked cdkeys to refund me now in light of this. It's the principle of the matter really. Will weigh up review feedback on performance even if my system may well be more than capable and not feel any loss.
