Not played since PP, my Anaconda is parked up in free space somewhere. Have the repair costs, fuel and wear and tear costs been normalised yet or still broken to the point making running a big ship pointless.

Can't say I've noticed anything terrible on my Cobra mk.3. Fuel is cheap, very little in wear and tear items and repairs are cheap enough when required. Can't say about an Anaconda though!

I've not seen any recent threads about it on the official forums so I am going to say yes and am prepared to be wrong :)

The cost to fully repair my Annie from 0% integrity after my last trip to the core was about ~1.5M, as opposed to over 10M a few months ago.

- told to leave station in 1m 30
Did you request docking permission?
Usually that's what narks up the station under such circumstances.

Well, maybe if I'm flying something huge that fits through the opening with six feet of space either side
Dunno why everyone frets about docking...
It has been *proven* that you can get THREE Anacondas through the docking hatch at the same time, with ample space around them all.
I think Kornelius Briedis did it in one of his videos...

IMO, if you crash while docking, you're either going too fast or not paying attention.

You're supposed to be insanely rich before taking on something that (in game lore) pretty much requires a crew of 10+ to fly.
It's essentially like having a private yacht, but only expecting the running costs of a Merc C-Class. :D

Today done more smuggling... bought a Diamondback Explorer.... finally fitted right size weapons to right size hardpoints (doh).... and took out a wing of 3 sidewinders which I was well pleased with.

So much to learn in this game for a old git like me :)

One thing I noticed when you leave starter systems you very rarely see any human players :(

Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS X - should be able to get it under £35 and it has enough buttons for you to map it in a way that means you never have you take your hands off the stick, apart from in the galaxy map and when typing comms.

2 in stock at OcUK now https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GC-027-Th

There isn't really anything cheaper that'll be good enough, and anything more expensive is generally diminishing returns.

What good NPC names have you come across? I've found Ally McCoist (Someone at Frontier obviously a Rangers fan!) and a Heven Stawking (Steven Hawking).

You can't do a lot to begin with, just some courier missions to get some money together so you can either upgrade your ship or buy something different. Don't worry about illegal courier missions, although you'll likely get fined if scanned the fine is a small amount compared to the payoff, just remember to pay the fine!

I've been playing about 5 hours or so now and the illegal courier missions are pretty much what i've been living on. It seems a bit odd that the fine is normally puny in relation to what you bring in as payment for the mission (even though these are hadrly record breaking sums).

I have been put back in my box quite firmly on attempting a couple of assasinations though. Turns out my Viper can't do much other than fight off the npc ships that tend to attack you in deep space (in my hands anyway)

I've never tried a Viper but I can handle most lower class ships in my Cobra Mk3 with ease. Even came across two eagles, three sidewinders and a Hauler, all wanted so gave it a go. With shield down I can just about take out a Sidey in one pass but the Eagles require a bit more work. Managed it though.
