If anybody is after Arsenic, Tungsten and Antimony for engineers

After 2 hours on the surface....
 
If I do a mission with a wing man (ie. we both pick the same mission from a station) we get dramatically different rewards!?!?

Anyone know what determines this difference?

I have been playing Elite from the very beginning with certain long or short period brakes. In general I enjoy the game a lot, but I feel that Star Citizen will be a vastly superior game, with better graphics and mainly many more things to do. At its current state, I I think Elite has not touched even 50% of its potential, lacking variety in ground missions, ground vehicles and ground equipment and also lacking ship equipment. I don't understand why weapons should be restrained to about 10 types with various grades (A, B, C etc) instead of having tens of different types with different brand names giving more realism and more perceived depth. Regarding the ship customization, I would make it more flexible, maybe by decreasing the core modules and increasing the optional and also removing some of the restraints eg in jump range. For example, every ship should be able to have a long jump range by sacrificing something else, similar to car customization where you can do everything you want as long as you have money.

Do you know what future developments are there for Elite?

Stick with Elite mate, Star Citizen if it's ever out will be something to look at when that happens - for now milk what fun you can out of ED and just keep an eye on the SC thread for when V3.0 drops :)

I backed both very early on and whilst I've played 10x more Star Citizen, it's still not a game.
 
Strudders - FYI mate there is currently a bug in one of the crash sites which allows you to keep retrieving those types of rares (including Tellurium!) from a cargo rack like a hacked ATM with your SRV. Fire, re-log, fire etc.
 
I got to say I loved reading up on the whole Salome drama, it starts to make ED a bit more of a universe akin to what EVE achieved and I hope it is something Frontier continues with. Anyway, on with the grind from Vice Admiral to Admiral then its engineers baby!!!

LOL that would have been to easy :p Only time I have ever re logged is for Chemical Manipulators at Dev's Hope. Felt a bit dirty doing so though.

I will look out that crash site though.

Still smarting about that "Tip" trip I did however...

Missions aren't shared in a wing so you are in fact doing two different missions.

As mentioned, wings don't affect this.
Your rank, both how far along the way to Elite you are (in whichever discipline applies) and your standing with the faction issuing the mission.
So if you're an Elite trader who is Allied with the faction and your mate is Mostly Penniless and Neutral, you will get offered a heck of a lot more Cr than he will.

This was Drew Wagar's event, not FD's. The latter merely facilitated a few things for him.
To a certain extent, I see where you're coming from, but EVE let too many players have too much control and it got ridiculous. I lost interest when it got to the point of people hacking other players' real-life emails and things. I think that's why FD aren't a fan of player factions, corporations and the like.
It's basically local gang warfare, so were this real life there'd be Police, special task forces and, if it got that bad, militaries who would step in to stomp on things before they got too nasty.
 
All but four engineers to go... delivered a lot of cigars and tea today... striped my anaconda back to 42LY to make it a little bit quicker. however the outcomes on my Class 4 pulse laser was epic...
 
Anyone that bought the Corvette still using it, I'm finding it a bit meh and keep going back to my AspEx as its more fun...
 
Scanning missions you say, I'm over there at the mo with my Beluga doing tourist trips..
Might have a look at these scanning ones..
 
Ages since I've done that kind of thing, but if you look where you're driving, you can usually get close enough to find what you need to scan.
Then just line up, head forwards & scan, then slam it into reverse to get you out before you get targeted.
With one week of doing those, don't think I got hit once.

I did mine for Duke rank, not money, but both are handy :p
 
Whats the best way to move my ED install over to another machine?

I can install the application from internet, not worried about that but would like to move my settings and bindings over.

c:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings or the obvious %appdata% route.
 
You need to be allied with all the Empire factions in Quince, or summat?
I only get scan missions from the one faction I'm cordial with... that's gonna take ages to rank up with all them!!

Is it work getting back into this? I was thinking about giving it a try, not played it since engineers came out?
