I only got back into it a few weeks ago.

I would say yes, Do the engineers stuff. I was very "nooope not doing that" when they first appeared but it has actually been a great fun since I got back.

Still feels like a grind mind you but with passenger missions and such, the boredom can be broken. The storage of the modals means that a ship fit out is always where you left it and no longer a search to refit. I have a passenger and cargo fit out for my anaconda at sol. When I want some money I just nip back there and use those modals stored there for that purpose.

I suspect I had done 200 hours since I started playing again 5-6 weeks ago and I still have loads of "goals" still to complete.
 
Scan missions take me ages as I can never park the bloody SRV.
Passenger missions in the Beluga take longer as well as I always end up catching its arse on the way in lol..

If you're stacking them, you can commit suicide and reappear back in the station.
Other than that, just drive straight on up the back of your ship (fnar fnar), slow down as you enter the orange box (fnar fnar fnar) and then slam on the handbrake as your Board Ship blue light illuminates on the right side of the console. Throttle off, let go of the brake and use menu to board ship.

Managed to get Cordial with one faction now, through a 900Ly round trip to buy some commodity they wanted donating... still only getting one scan mission at a time, though, no matter how many times I relog. So much for 70mil/hr...!!

Most CZ have cease-fired as of around 3pm ish.

40M CR in massacre missions shot :(

Wild ride whilst it lasted though I did about 500M CR in the end.

Gonna farm some technetium for me cascade torp. boat then pack up and head to the next hot spot.

If your Open Play the missions will auto complete if there are plenty of other people also doing the missions. In Quince its 50/50, when they scan it also works for you assuming you have located the building / outpost.
 
Are there any OcUK groups?
About 800 million in the bank, with Duke Rank for the Cutter. Will start grinding for my Federation Rank and Vet soon.

Not afaik but I'd be happy to join one. I'm currently a member of Mobius which is a bit broken imho b/c of FDev's limit on the number of members in a private group - I'm in the smaller second group MobiusPVE. Frontier should really raise the cap, even if a group has to apply for special status as have 3 Mobius groups for PC is more than a bit daft imho.
 
Hi all!

I've searched the forum but no luck - can anyone recommend a good joystick to play this with? I had a Hotas x52 which I sold after not using it much but now I'm after a new one since I've been playing a lot of flight sims.

If you have loads of money, get the Thrustmaster Warthog. This is the top end kit, but for top end money and is (IMO) best suited to simpit builds rather than desktops, due to the angles it's designed around

If you have Saitek money but want something that won't break and die within a few weeks, get the Thrustmaster T16000M FCS (rudder pedals optional). Very good for the price and can be used with or without the throttle.

If you have medium money and want function over form, with a solid and reputable build, get the Pro Throttle and either the Fighterstick or Combatstick from CH Products. Rudder pedals also available, but each component is sold separately. This is the setup I have, myself.

Not a FF fan, still rocking my old Cyborg 3d Gold here but not got it setup for ED as it lost my config one day and I CBA to set it back up again lol

Stick has z access too (twist) which is rare on sticks today and also has force feedback. Best stick ever made.

Yep totally agree. I had a sidewinder FF pro which only came with Game port and the biggest power brick.. LOL

However it's replacement, Saitek X52 is just as good and still as good as when I unboxed it. That was when they were made by Saitek... I hope Logitech can turn the quality around.

Thinking about it, I have only really owned 2 flight sticks on PC... I have had yokes and throttle consoles but only my sidewinder and my X52.... Wow

However the sidewinder was fantastic, Thousands of hours in MSFS and MSCFS

Whereas Thousands of hours in MSFSX and hundreds in ED :)
