*** The Official Elite: Dangerous Thread ***

Yes, will take longer as each mission will require it`s own scan.

Not an issue on un-guarded points, but a pain with turrets.

Another bodge fix, to something that did not need fixing apart from the crying of the elite zealots as usual.

Ooh. Any details ? Or a link ?

Doing passenger missions at the moment (mostly business class deliveries) to try and get the cash up to buy my next ship, the python :D

Think CMDR Josh Hawkins showed it in one of his youtube podcasts, but not sure.

btw good news for passenger missions. Also in one of his podcasts, he read out some of them & the payouts have increased massively, with some trips paying ten million+ for a mere 12ly trip :D

Ah okay ! I've just signed up to the frontier forums. So I'll keep an eye out for details on there :D

That sounds great ! Passenger missions are good because you get to see a lot more sights than you would doing delivery missions. :) (especially with the jump distance of the asp.)

Although.. little did I know until I had left the station I was at last night, and halfway to my destination.. I was harbouring a criminal in my passenger lounge  I panicked half way to my destination station.. cancelled the mission hoping I could jettison my "cargo" unfortunately passengers don't work like that. Haha. Fortunately I didn't get ship scanned on the way in or I'd be 500,000cr down right about now !

I'll be paying more attention to details of passengers next time !

Never once done a passenger mission, may give it a shot some time.
One handy thing, is that I'm used to hitting the keybind to go cold running (not always on purpose though ;))

I've not tried using silent running yet.. I mean, surely they would notice someone silent running their way through the letterbox of a spaceport and think that's a bit suspect :D

Edit. Passenger missions are cool. Easy money too. Some of them nag you to get stuff for the journey. I.e consumer electronics to make their journey more comfortable. I just ignore the request, like, sorry pal you should have packed your iPad. :p

Try to avoid sight seeing tours. They look like a lot of cash on the face of it, but I promise you those three stops will take about 2-3 hours.

The short ones for a few hundred k each are the way to go. I moved a criminal 2 jumps in my dolphin for 850k last night, took a whole 4 minutes

Aye. I've read a guide where it recommends not bothering with passengers that want to travel further than 200ly. For anything less than 2 mil.

Last night I dropped off 16 business men, I think it was a 10ly jump. 800k CR in the bank. Easy money.

You just need to check where they want to go, there are plenty that are easily doable in 30 minutes and pay a decent amount.

Bad news, in closed beta the rewards were high. They've now been destroyed by the Fdev nerf bat.

Maybe it's because I've not been looking, but I've not seen any data missions to colonia in 2.3?
Nothing wrong with picking a few up if you were planning to go there anyway.

The colonia/ annihilator passenger missions have huge payouts if you wanted to visit those places anyway but had the downside of cabin weight and not being able to stop off in colonia and change ships for a bit.

These new data missions don't have any drawbacks whatsoever - if you were heading there anyway.

I'm still filling my boots at quince before it gets nerfed on the xbox. Was I right in reading that the ruins scan mission got the bonus dropped from 100 million to 10 million? I constantly get the feeling that FDev are worried there is very little end game, so the grind has to be kept ultra grindy.
