Harriers make use of aerofoils once they're in flight though. Thrusters will be really inefficient in the atmosphere so will use a lot of fuel I reckon.
Ja, but drones don't, do they?
Besides, fuel is just a quick Cruise hop to the nearest planet base.

Also, thinking about it, ISTR seeing some spinny-things on the ship hulls during Outfitting, which I don't think were the thrusters - Could be some kind of turbine for atmo flight?

Drones do not, but they are lightweight and use propellers - it's different.

Yeah I've seen those turbine type things not sure exactly if they're the thrusters or not.

Flitting back to barnacle forest when I saw one of those alien USS things. Sat there for five minutes contemplating whether to enter it or not, as I'm still waiting for my months long over due interdiction, but I caved ;)

Stupid Thargoids need to look where they're going!

Jumped back into ED for 2.4 and was pleased to see the passenger missions have been given a buff.

4 stacked transport missions to Mildeptu from Sol

40 million..... That 20 mins work.

I accidentally picked a data mission for ~22.7kly. Just short of 700k.
Screw that! lol

Ive never done these missions, I guess I need one of the passenger type craft for such?
How does cargo space work for passengers essentially?

You can use any craft you like, just swap out internal modules for passenger cabins and off you go.

Pre 2.4 I never saw enough of a difference to make it worthwhile to be fair, I've not looked since the update dropped so it may have been tweaked. It's a trade off too, fitting luxury cabins reduces the number of passengers you can carry so you can miss out of well paid bulk passenger transportation. It'd well worth having a good look at the missions available to you to see what fitment would be best for you.

These where all business and economy. There was a transport 17 politicians for 40 million to the same location but I had a server error.

I will check tomorrow and see if it the same.

I am in an anoconda with 50 odd spaces so stacking is an option as I have space.

Still a bit extreme.

There was one mission to take 3 first class customers to somewhere....
21000 frikkin light years away.....

Is this for real? HOw the hell can one travel so far?

Grab as large a fuel scoop as you can & job's a good 'un!

Lucky that we can now plot routes upto 20kly, before it was a meagre 1kly :(

Before that it was 100ly and before that it didn't exist at all

But. How long would 20kly take?

Took me around seven or eight hours to get to Colonia (22kly) in my AspX with 45ly jump range. You can do it a lot quicker these days with the extended route planning and the ability to exclude non scoopable stars from the plot, if you throw in neutron star boosts it can be done very fast, I think someone has done it in under three hours!!!
